A beautiful piece of jewelry. It turns out that I dealt with Persians in business when I lived in California some 20 years ago. One young man wore a gold "amulet" around his neck. I admired it and asked what it was. He replied that it was an old man on the back of a big bird. It was maybe an inch and a half across. Valuable, and very striking. Much later in life, I now know what it was and what it represents. "Also Sprach Zarathustra" is the music in the music "2001."
