Does it help them grow fast?

One of my Koi fish had a baby earlier in the summer and he seems to be growing really fast. They really gobble up this food.. Hope this helps....

Would this be ok for a wilfe pond? Like for turtles and birds if they get ahold of some?

I don't know about turtles, when I feed the fish in my 6x8 fountain, I get careless and sometimes miss the water. I have seen Birds, Squirrels, Raccoons and Possum eat it, none seem to be hurt by it.

Yes, these pellets float for a fairly long period of time. They eventually become waterlogged and will sink. My goldfish have no problem gobbling them up while they're still floating so really very few end up sinking.
