I already have 5 for my reptiles
These domes work great! I use them for lights as well as ceramic bulb heaters. They are all hooked up to timers and dimmers, and they keep my habitats....well, habitable. The wire hook/loop on top is a nice bonus to hang these up on the wall when I need to remove the lid of my enclosures. There is an on/off switch along the power cord, and the ceramic socket gives me peace of mind when using heating fixtures. A WORD OF CAUTION: These are rated up to 100 watts. So if you're buying ceramic heat emitters, please buy a dome that is appropriately rated. The life of your animal and the safety of your home is not worth saving a few bucks on a piece of electrical equipment.

Amazing Lighting, But Be Cautious On Where You Put It
I love these things a lot. I know people get concerned about fire hazards when heat bulbs are put in, but they seem fairly safe to me. The only issue I had with them was me accidentally putting them on a plastic table for too long and it melted the table and put a hole in it. But that’s just because heat couldn’t escape like when it’s on a wire cage or held above. Otherwise, they do their job and have been perfect for what I need. Leopard gecko is pretty happy with the warmth it provides!

Was worth the purchase
These lamp shades work as advertised. They fit bulbs easy, are easy to fit on a hanging rack. They install/place easily and are durable. I have some that have lasted for years, I never had to replace this one. It doesn't come with a light, but it amplifies any light you put in it just fine. I never noticed any flickering or anything off about them. I no longer need mine as I no longer have reptiles, but I would certainly recommend this to anyone with a small setup. Note that this is NOT big enough for anything larger than 28x18.

Nice Fixture...but be careful with Ceramic Heat Emitters
After buying this fixture I read on some other websites that although its ceramic socket is rated to 100 Watts, the manufacturer says not to use ceramic heat emitters (and it says this on the box too...but not on Amazon!). Supposedly because its a small deep fixture and the heat could build up too much and go back into the wires. Dang it, because thats what I bought 3 of them for. I know someone who uses a 60 Watt ceramic heat emitter in this, like I wanted to do, so I carefully went ahead. The temperature with my temp gun measured at the bell never got hotter than the bell of the fixture I have a 100 Watt Mercury Vapor Bulb in (these things get hot!), about 145 F in a 65 F house, and after a week of use I feel pretty secure that its not going to cause any problems. I wouldn't recommend putting more than a 60 Watt heat emitter in there though. Nice look (matches well with my regular size deep dome fixtures), love the secure hanging hook (unlike those stupid clamp on ones), and they also work awesome with the ZooMed clamp on covers (5.5 inch...I use these with heat emitters) and the lamp stands (which you really need so you can vertically adjust the bulb to get the right temperature...you can't use dimmers/thermostats on Mercury Vapor Bulbs, and it wears out a bulb fast if you use it on a heat emitter...plus its just another thing that can fail and then maybe overheat your reptile). Only reason I give it a 4 not a 5 is the surface scratches easily (1 of mine actually came scratched), has a lip at the bottom that catches dust pretty bad (but I think they need it like this to use the clamp on covers), and they come with these stupid safety stickers on the surface that take forever to get all the adhesive off. I think this is a very safe product and highly recommend it for use with light bulbs up to 100 Watts and Ceramic Heat Emitters up to 60 Watts.

Works great
Works great! I have two of these for my skinks tank, each plugged in to a thermostat. No issues so far, just make sure you have the right sized bulbs.

My Dragons are enjoying it
I had one just like it been using for nearly 6 years but in our new home the kids like to sit in front of the window on the North facing window and on the South facing window so they can look out at the world. So of course I was moving it from one room to the other~ I thought about getting another one and finally did and it makes it so much easier~ They can't go outside much in the Winter but at least they can sit and dream and see what's going on in the world~ But yesterday it was in the mid 50's out on the Kansas Prairie so I took them outside to hang out in their Small habitat and then after I got some chores done, I put them out on the grass to run around and get some exercise and bask in the sun. Zen found a spot on my neighbors walkway with his back against the Sun and Goldie was on a paver with her back against the sun sucking in some nourishment~ Today and tomorrow we're going to have some 60's from the sun so you can bet they'll be out there running around and enjoying it all before the weather takes it's usual dip down to old-town~ You can tell from the photo they're real swingers. We do that often all summer long, sit out on the deck as the sun goes down gently swinging back and forth~ Yes they even sleep on the pillow next to me~ I've had Zen for 6 years now, Goldie came to us 2 years ago, I got her from a lady who apparently didn't know Animals have feelings~ Its like a match made in Loveland, they're always wanting to be touching, its a love story that anyone with a heart would envy~

Worth the price, tiny bit fragile?
Have had the same ones since 2018 and they hold the heat of the bulbs very well! The heat does only spread as wide as the lamp, however. Where the light ends so does the heat so if you want wide range heat then I would get several lamps or a bigger single lamp. They've worked great except when they've gotten knocked down and the cord caught them before they hit the ground. The tug on the cord separated and broke the white part around the lamp and a small distance fall dented one of the hoods after hitting my metal storage shelf. Overall, pretty simple and easy, honestly! Worth the price but no more.

Der Reflektor hat einen Öffnungsdurchmesser von 14cm. Ich habe keine Ahnung, woher die Abmessungen unter "Technische Daten" stammen. Ferner war er bei Lieferung auf einer Seite eingebeult.

Bought a bunch for all of my tanks, I should have checked the measurements but I was thrown off by the size after expecting "mini" domes to arrive. They're as big as the regular dome I have lol but luckily they still all fit my tanks and haven't had any issues so far!

I purchased this about 2 months ago now, so plenty of time to develop any issues, to shield the 100 watt bulbs in my bearded dragons vivarium so i wasn't blinded every time i looked in, sturdy construction with a ceramic screw fitting and metal dome, reflective metal internally and a nice unobtrusive black external finish. there is a on /off switch on the lead approx 2ft from lamp fitting, and the lead has a European plug fitted , so remember to get an adapter if in UK only a couple of £ but annoying if you have to wait for another delivery before you can fit. I ordered a second one of these for my vivarium which shows i'm happy, as is my beardie see the pictures, the metal hook wasn't required for me and was easily removed , i used hooks to fix the cable to the top of vivarium which works fine for me. Overall i would happily recommend a nice addition to my vivarium and a good solution to unwanted blinding glare from basking lights Only 4 stars as i had to purchase a plug adapter for this although its being sold in the UK,which wasn't clear to me at time of purchase and could be corrected fairly easily.

Product came exactly as described. Using it on top of my terrarium for my crested geckos. Surface of dome is hot to touch as described once bulb is in. I'm using a 60 watt daylight incandescent bulb. Make sure it is out of reach for children. So far no concerns.
