Edge 84030 Insight - CS2

I like the size and functionality of this unit. It is small enough to be easily fit and out of the way, yet I can still see the information needed. The suction cup works very well. I recommend cleaning the mounting spot on the windshield where the suction cup will go with some rubbing alcohol. I like this mounting system better than the piller pod.

Easy to hook up and internet the directions are simple

upon opening, I tried the software update and it said that it was already at the newest level. When I plugged it in to my 2012 RAM 3500, it came right up. Once I figured out how to set up the custom gauges, it just worked. I do have a couple of design complaints. The first complaint I have is that it forgets the vehicle if I disconnect it. Well, I'm not giving anyone another reason to break into my truck, so I always take it in the house with me. That means that I need to select my brand of vehicle each time I reconnect it. A small annoyance, but still an annoyance. The second complaint is that it gets really hot -- almost too hot to wrap your hand around. At first, I thought that it was because the sun was hitting it and it was 115F outside, but even at night it gets really hot.

Distance readings for the same route can vary by several miles. In my case, the same route was 12.5 miles one day, and 15 miles the next. Estimated real-time mpg is inaccurate. On one day it read that i was getting 22 mpg for the entire drive of more than one hour. I never get that. Coming back over the same road, it reads 3.3. Sometimes i suspect i do get that. The calculated tank average was 14 mpg. I cannot attest to the accuracy of other readings. I just have to trust them, a little.

Doesnt work unless you do an update but the page is down. Everytime you try to do your account and save it, it disappears and start all over again. Dont buy edge products.

I bought this item used, it cam and looked good but it only works when it wants to what a waste of money.
