This piece is a one-of-a-kind monoprint collage combination on BFK Rives Printmaking Paper with uneven deckle edge.This work originated in the album MartialArts. The backdrop is composed of ghost prints and prints of a mask-like shape hovering somewhere between a Greek helmet and Batman. I created the template from a cardboard divider used to protect wine bottles by carving the suggested shapes with a xacto knife. The layering of different kinds of paper collaged onto the print gave a three-dimensional quality to this two-dimensional piece, further aided by some beautiful material embossing in the paper. The added dimensionality makes the image come alive like a stage set.
