Looks great and works great but the set screw was not completely tightened. Easy fix but otherwise the latch slides off.

Excellent & inexpensive way to lockdown inside doors in the event of an active shooter situation, perfect for our application. Installer: Make sure the small setscrew that holds the spring is tightened down. I almost lost a setscrew on one of the locks during installation. The locks can be used to secure doors that swing in or out. Our doors swing out, but I recommend purchasing heavier slidelocks for doors that swing in.

The surface bolt is good but the screws they sent with it suck. One of the heads snapped off after it was 3/4 of the way into the wood. Do yourself a favor, toss the junk and buy a packet of brass wood screws for use with this surface bolt. It would have been 5 stars but like I said, the screws they packaged with it suck.

Good bolt with smooth action. It's nice to have both options for the catch, I used the thinner one on the inner surface of the door jamb since this bolt is on a double-swinging door that needs to be "centered" in the door frame. There is a half-inch of bolt exposed when it's extended fully.

I liked the look of the surface lock and the mechanism works fine, however the low rating it due to the screw top breaking. Two screws broke, in the door. Yup, should have realized when the first one broke that I should have said stopped and returned it but t thought it was as a rarity. After failing to get the broken screw out I tried reloading the lock and it was ok but as soon as the second screw was almost in it broke AGAIN! Now i am stuck with two broken screw in out entrance door and the only option is to further damage the doo. So basically it looks ok but they cheaped out on the screws…which brings into question how secure the lock actually it 👀

Very happy and good quality but they are chrome and not nickel.

The bolt is beautiful and feels sturdy but the included screws are terrible. I snapped off 2 screw heads while installing, even though I had thoroughly pre-drilled the holes and was experiencing very little resistance while installing the screws. St. Simons -- spend a couple more cents and include some quality screws! It sounds like a lot of folks are having issues with them!

A lovely replacement for a bathroom door lock after a bathroom renovation. It's elegant and looks terrific on a vintage door with no built in lock. I recommend!

Absolute junk. Hinges are different shades and the screws are made of butter. The head broke off one of the screws. Do not buy as expensive rubbish.

In my mind it was larger, but it does exactly the job I wanted it for, and its lovely.

Bought 2 to replace the 1 that our builder had installed. This was pretty easy to install works and looks great.

Works well to keep children out of my office, however the brass screws included are quite soft and easily broken when using with a cordless screwdriver. Once I switched to a hand screwdriver they went in fine. Drilling pilot holes recommended.
