What sometimes bugs me is the lack of specifications for the features of an item. For these one inch spring-hinges it's the spring itself, and how much does it take to make it open. The specific use I had for at least one of these hinges needs less pressure supplied by the spring, and now I have to take out the shaft holding the three parts together and try to unwind the spring so that pressure is less than a pound. These are stainless steel and great quality and now I'm going to make the spring pressure adjustable. The spring that I tried to measure was too much for even a clamp to hold and it shot off into some part of the shop; perhaps never to be seen again!
