I bought my chair about 5 years ago. The chair is doing great. I think the cylinder needs replaced as it seems to go down sometimes. I think it is as much because I am short that I sit more forward that back completely. Anyway I may not replace it right away but I at least have it here when needed. the Duramont chair is great. Looks great. In excellent condition. I use the chair a lot. Thank you for not making it a bonded leather chair. If all you really need to do to a chair every 5 years is replace the cylinder you have a great chair.

Could not get the collar to work and was going to return but was finally able to remove old cylinder by hammering at it for a while. Rate this a 4 as the Cylinder is fantastic.

Das mitgelieferte Werkzeug war der Hauptgrund für den Kauf. Dies kann ich ohne Probleme empfehlen. Die Verarbeitung des mitgelieferten Werkzeugs ist hochwertig. Hiermit gelingt der Ausbau der alten Feder aus dem Korpus perfekt und mühelos. Beim trennen der Verbindung zwischen Gasdruckfeder und Fußkreuz ist nach wie vor "brutale" Gewalt notwendig. Aber dies ist bedeutend leichter als die Verbindung zur Stuhlmechanik zu lösen. Leider gab es Verzögerungen beim Zoll. Hierfür kann der Anbieter jedoch nichts. Zur Gasdruckfeder kann ich nichts sagen, da ich diese nicht verwende. Das war der einzigste Anbieter für ein Demontage Werkzeug.

5 months later, Cylinder is already wobbly, squeaky, occasionally goes all the way down while i sit on it and also goes down about an inch while im sitting (if its trying to hold pressure? if that makes sense). not good.. wasnt the cheapest option either. The removal tool helped remove the old cylinder from the seat with some effort, but removing it from the base was still really tough. might just need to buy a new chair. most of these cylinder options are pretty bad. already on my 2nd amazon gas cylinder in a matter of a couple years. at least the first one lasted me a year or so this one was already showing signs that it wont last after 3-4 months.

I bought this because I was so annoyed and tired of my chair on max height always thumping down an inch every couple minutes until fully decompressed. A lot more affordable kit that comes with pretty much everything, e.g. cloth gloves, cylinder/cylinder removal tool, Allen key, and easy step by step instructions. Its gonna take some patience to remove the chair mount to cylinder. Make sure to tighten the bottom clamp tool as tight as possible and keep top clamp loose. Be prepared for some sore thumbs/hands. Installation with everything apart is actually quick and easy, but removing old cylinder can vary. All in all, the new cylinder is much smoother going up/turning. Also, it goes a lot higher than stock and I can finally rest my leg on my desk to parallel. I'll keep an update on longevity and reliability.
