Daisy Jones and The Six

Great condition and very good book

First off- some things I gotta say rightaway. What I liked- the format. Its in the form of interviews with various members of the band and so on who are looking back at the glory days. Here, one character says a few lines. Then the next. And the next. And so on. So you get multiple POVs right through the book. What I didn't like- the format. Its in the form of interviews. All the way. Literally. I found this a bit disorienting as it took away a bit of the narrative flow. By the time, measured in seconds, you get used to seeing stuff through one character's eyes, the POV has changed. But either way, its an interesting never-before format. And once you get in sync with it, its great. The story. If you are a fan of Fleetwood Mac, you might enjoy this a bit more. Daisy Jones is a talented singer and song writer. She unfortunately gets no breaks. Billy and Graham Gunne are the members of The Six. Their band seems to be stagnating at a 'they are kinda ok' level. The Six is looking for a female singer. So the twain do meet. And sparks fly. In more ways than one. The book narrates how the Six becomes Daisy Jones and the Six. How the various members react to their fame and how they feel about each other. Probably this is where the format scores- we get to see both sides of a particular situation almost simultaneously. And why they do what they do. The book traces the rise and ultimate fall of the band. Yes, unfortunately. You do get a sense of foreboding as the story progresses- mainly because of the self destructive nature of some members. And partly because of the blurb (so this is not a spoiler). The setting of the story was another thing I liked. The music recording process, how the album cover was designed, how the studio worked- details about stuff that I had absolutely no idea about, was worth a few points on the plus side. At the heart of the book is the story of Daisy and Billy. My favourite character and probably the one that emerges from the narrative is Camilla. Not Daisy or Billy. The book has the lyrics of the band's songs at the end. In case you want to try out for the Six.

When I finished “The sevens husbands of Evelyn Hugo” which I loved and a 5 ⭐️ read, I thought I had to give this a try also. I enjoyed the unique writing style - the whole book is writing from interviews with numbers of characters and their point of view during the story. Therefor it was also quite funny sometimes. Unfortunately I can’t give this a 5 ⭐️ I will give this a 4 ⭐️ rating. Because it was very slow in the middle of the book and I was not sure if I wanted to finish reading it. But after these pages the story took a right turn again.

~this book was a heartache for me & when i say it i do mean it in every sense of word. i loved experiencing it & i’d go for it again & again, a feeling soo hurtful which ruined me like literally & that’s how much i devoured myself to this amazing book!! ~when you love somebody, when you want to devote wholly to something, when you’re so desperate about what you need, when you’re lost at certain times, when you’re a trouble knowingly, when you’re everything the world wants to know & talks about...........that’s daisy jones ~I’ve read seven husbands of evelyn hugo before daisy jones & the six. i must say evelyn hugo & daisy jones are those characters who don’t have any hidden heart of gold, they aren’t perfect & that’s what makes them so live & realistic !!! you feel like they exist IRL ~our late 1970’s famous rock band "daisy jones and the six" are touring for their album Aurora which is rising top the charts but on july 12th 1979 after the live concert at chicago they split abruptly & nobody knows why.....as author mentioned “The truth often lies, unclaimed, in the middle.” ~characters are always what makes a book soo sparkling & hypnotizing....daisy sure was one such !!! but apart from daisy other characters also blew me away....everybody was so honest & you could feel them when they talk. ~i loved daisy & simone’s friendship, the way simone was always there for daisy no matter what.....i loved the kind of connection existed between camilla & billy........i loved karen for believing what she really wants even though she knows that she will be judged for it.......i loved eddie for having his opinions.......i loved graham for his devotion.....i loved daisy for everything she was & she is & she will be......i loved the whole book for making me effing numb. ~addiction was one of the main themes which this book dealt with & we know how sex, drugs are always the core in pop culture as they say ”sex, drugs, rock ”n”roll 🎸” . i loved the way characters coped with their addiction !!!! ~heck yeah !!!! i loved every part of it & i’m in pain 😣 i need more books like this......taylor jenkins reid knows me so well better than any & she’s breaking me for good !!!!!

Venía muy bien! Solo en la contraportada traía un hoyito como de golpe pero nada más. Amé el libro, vale totalmente la pena leerlo y comprarlo. Me gusta más esta portada que la qd ya hicieron por la serie, aunque es muy parecida. Mi personaje favorito obviamente Camila🖤

Amazing book written so well!

I was not expecting to like this book as much as I did. I would like to say that it talks about drug use a lot but the story is amazing. The whole 70s vibe, the outfits, the music, the dialogue and the original and special kind of story telling that Taylor Jenkins Reid uses are just amazing and make this a great reading experience. I fell in love with all the characters, laughed, cried, was shocked sometimes and just admired the writing and how realistic it all was. I loved feeling like I was there on stage, on tour and in hotels with the band members while also seeing their lives at home and I loved that the song lyrics are also in the book. Huge recommendation!
