Can this be used on chalk board with traditional chalk?

There is a small suction cup that is used to attach the tool to the white board. I am not sure it would attach to a regular blackboard. Also the hole where the marker goes is not big enough for a regular piece of chalk.

I have dry erase paint on my dry wall. Will the suction cup stick on it?
