Is this still sparkly, or has the formula changed?

I personally do not find this sparkly whatsoever. My fav powder

is this the same kind of powder as a translucent or pressed powder in a compact? thanks.

It has the same feel and texture as pressed powder in a compact, but it is a foundation. It gives good coverage. Use it lightly because a little, goes a long way. It is easy to use too much. I've been using it for over 2 years. I prefer it much more, than liquid makeup. :)

It’s magic. Brush it on over foundation with a large fluffy brush (don’t use the one it comes with). Wrinkles and crevices just disappear and you have a matte dewy finish.
