I recently purchased the 6-inch Dexter fillet knife for my fishing trips, and it has quickly become my go-to tool for processing fish. Here's my experience with it: Sharpness: Right out of the box, this knife was incredibly sharp. It made quick work of filleting several fish with minimal effort. The edge is fine enough to easily glide through fish skin and bones, while still being strong enough to handle tougher cuts when needed. Blade Flexibility: One of the things I love most about this knife is the flexibility of the blade. It’s perfect for getting nice, clean fillets without wasting much meat. The 6-inch blade is the ideal size for medium to large fish, and it gives you just the right amount of control. Handle: The handle has a great grip, even when wet. I’ve used it while filleting fish on the boat, and I never felt like the knife would slip out of my hand. It has a comfortable, ergonomic design that makes long sessions of filleting much easier on the hands. Build Quality: Dexter has a reputation for quality, and this knife is no exception. The blade is stainless steel and has shown no signs of rust or corrosion, even after multiple trips on the water. The knife feels sturdy and durable, and I’m confident it will hold up over time. Ease of Maintenance: After a long day of fishing, the knife cleans up easily with just a quick rinse. I’ve also been able to keep the blade sharp with just a few strokes on a honing rod. It’s very low maintenance and still performs like new. Cons: The only minor issue I’ve had is that the knife does require some care in storing it, as the blade can be a bit sensitive to knocks if not kept in a protective sheath. But that's a small issue given how well it performs. Final Thoughts: Overall, I’m thoroughly impressed with this Dexter fillet knife. Whether you're an experienced fisherman or just starting out, this knife is an excellent choice for filleting fish with ease. It’s sharp, durable, and comfortable to use, making it a great investment for anyone who enjoys fishing. Highly recommended!
