Is this adapter compatible with ubuntu 18.04 LTS (4.15) linux?

This USB serial cable is with FTDI chipset (FT232), and all FTDI devices now supported in Ubuntu 11.10, kernel 3.0.0-19.

Does Win10 use built-in drivers for this or do drivers come with it?

This item comes with CD driver (supports windows 10). Also, you can copy this link: http://www.dtechelectronics.com/uploadfile/downloads/DT-5013.rar to donwload the driver.

Doesn't seem to work on my mac osx, and the cd provided is not readable by my mac. is there a digital download for macs?

Extract the rar file and find a folder named "DT-5010 5011 5013 5018 5019 5031 5051";3. Open it and click the file named as âMACâ, then install the driver on your system;4.
