Excellent sound quality from this easy-to-use USB microphone
I bought this USB microphone after I read about it in ComputerActive magazine. I am a physician and post-doctoral researcher in medical informatics working on developing innovative applications for patient education. The article in ComputerActive magazine was about creating podcasts and this microphone was recommended as a considerable improvement on the cheap microhone built into the laptop / desktop. I do have a high-end microphone with an XLR connection but that needs a dedicated amplifier to provide an audio feed into a PC's sound card. This USB microphone has a PnP driver so it's ready for use as soon as you plug it in. I used it with the freeware audio editor, Audacity. Speech recordings are very clear, of high quality and free from background noise so I can't wait to use it for my podcasts. The microphone comes with foam windshield and I found the audio iinput level easy to set on Audacity. The PC I used was running the tried and tested Windows XP which I still use a lot. You certainly can't go wrong buying this microphone. I am evening considering using it for wildlife sound recording with it connected to a netbook and with the mike mounted in a home-made parabolic reflector!

Good mic for voice calls but does a fairly good job at recording music
Simple to setup and use providing better voice clarity than built-in laptop mics. Recording musical instruments (like my electric guitar) is not that good. It is only marginally better than recording a musical instrument in your mobile phone or using your laptop mic which sounds awful!Mid October: A few months have passed and I am re-writing my review. After acquiring a second fairly expensive large diaphragm condenser microphone and an audio interface to record my electric guitar, I can honestly say that this microphone, of course not as good as the one which was more than 10x its price, does a fairly good job at recording acoustic guitar, as long as it is close to the instrument. So I am changing my review to 5 stars because I now believe that for its price and ease of usability is an excellent buy and I would highly recommend it!

Fine for my requirements, and cheap too
I've wanted a microphone for my computer for ages as I often record myself playing music or singing, and after using a dictaphone for years I wanted something a bit more suited to the job.For the price, this is a really nice microphone. It's nicely packaged, and inside the box you'll find the microphone, a screw-in tripod, a foam wind cover, and an instruction leaflet. It's a breeze to use - just plug it into a USB port on your computer, wait for it to be detected by your operating system (I tested it in Windows 10 but the leaflet tells me it works with Macs as well), and you're ready to go. There isn't a switch on the microphone, so as soon as you hit record in your recording application of choice (I used Audacity) it works. The microphone has a reassuring weightiness to it as well as it feels like it is made of metal rather than plastic. The only plasticky element is the tripod. This screws into a fold-down silver "neck" at the bottom of the microphone. The thread is plastic and the legs feel fairly flimsy, but they worked fine for me, and the microphone felt stable and didn't fall over. The only criticism I have is that when I recorded myself playing a ukulele the recording came out fairly quiet, despite my playing quite loudly and the recording level being set to maximum in Audacity, but I can always fiddle with this when I edit. Voice recording however was clear and loud. All in all, I'm really pleased with it. For the price, it's an absolute steal too.

USB plug and play, sounds good, comes with mini stand
I need an additional microphone for my YouTube videos but was unwilling to pay big bucks again (eg Yeti) and this one had good reviews so I took a chance and am very happy with the results. When I plug it into my USB 2.0 hub it automatically gets recognised and appears in OBS as the correctly named microphone.Sound quality is easily good enough for YouTube narration and it's done well over the last few weeks. I can't really tell in the final recording when I switch microphones so there we are!The little stand can be useful, although I'd have preferred it to be more easily detachable, and the cable too which is tethered. A standard USB cable would have been better. I don't know how easy it would be to put this into a standard microphone stand (Yeti-style) as it might be a bit short (and it's a funny shape too). But for me, none of that matters, it's well worth the money I paid.

Plug in, and record. Very cheap, but very good.
I’ve just started to make a few digital audio recordings for various projects at work, including some guided meditations, and a bit of singing for pleasure. As I’ve only just started to do this, I didn’t want to spend loads of money on a mic that I might not use all that often.I’m suitably impressed, as it hooks up to my MacBook 2017 ed and Logic Pro software without any trouble. However I have to use a USB to USB-C adaptor for my MacBook, but that’s no real issue. The mic records clearly and crisply. It’s quite sensitive and does pick up background noise easily, but I’m very much an amateur, so that might be due to lack of experience on my part. The mic and stand feel like they are both very robust. I’d highly recommend this product.

A great general purpose microphone
Summary:- EDIT: not as resilient as I first thought- Surprisingly high quality build- Good sound quality for the price- Extremely easy to install- Comes with a wind filterEDIT: A month or two after purchasing this, the microphone has started outputting a loud, constant buzz which gets louder when I touch it. This seems to be a fault with the microphone and not my pc, since the replacement mic works fine. I suspect that a fault has developed with the wire. It's suffered occasional small falls to the floor, but nothing that I would expect would break it.I'm going to leave my original review as it was, since I'm aware that this could purely be bad luck and it really was a decent microphone before this happened. I am however dropping two stars from it, and will suggest that the microphone is not as resilient as I first thought.I can't really fault this microphone, the price seems pretty fair for what you get.Build Quality:I was surprised by how professional this mic looks when it arrived. The body has some weight to it, making it feel sturdy, and the legs give a little resistance when adjusted, so they keep the microphone in place fairly well, especially on a flat surface. I've seen some reviews complaining about the legs but I don't see the issue, they've worked fine for me and I've been putting the microphone on the arm of my chair! The mic also comes with a wind filter cover, for any of you who might be planning on using it outside.Sound Quality:I tested this by placing it on a desk in front of me and speaking in a soft voice, below the volume I would normally hold a conversation. It picked up my voice quite clearly, and I couldn't hear any trace of static/noise. I use the mic mainly for watching netflix with my girlfriend over skype and she hasn't complained about being able to hear the show from my end, so it seems to do a good job of filtering out background noise. She's also been able to hear me from around 5-6 feet away if I raise my voice a little, although she said it was obvious that I'd moved away from the mic.To give some idea of quality, I could imagine an amateur YouTuber using this with no problems whatsoever. I doubt you'll find PewdiePie recording with one any time soon though!Installation:It really is plug and play. I've used the mic on both Windows and Linux and in both cases I had to do nothing more than plug it in.If you've found this review helpful then let me know with a thumbs up! Likewise, if you found it lacking then please go ahead and click the thumbs down.

Excellent purchase
I bought this because my standard microphone which plugs in to the PC jack plug failed to work because it picked up the electronic home from my PC which turned out to be about as loud as any sound I input .I read an article somewhere saying that if you use a USB microphone you can bypass this noise. I was sceptical but it turned out to be absolutely true I am getting good sound reproduction and no incidental noise at all I am really pleased with the product and would recommend it completely. I thought you had to pay more for a decent microphone but you really don't. I use it for zoom and Skype so that I can play play my classical guitar and the sound quality is perfect!

Very good for the money.
The quality is very much good enough for Youtube voice recording. It is a substantial improvement on the built in mic. on both the C922 and the Brio camera. It is a mono mic.The foam wind muffler acts as a pop filter too.I highly recommend getting a mic arm - I use one of the articulated ones. This will cut down the noise from the desk. Try holding it the air when recording - there is a marked difference in the unwanted sound.Downside is that the body is two narrow to slip into a sprung mike support to deaden sound from the desktop. Having said that I get little noise from that. The mic. is sensitive and delivers plenty of sound to the recording.I listen on a fairly high end domestic Senheisser headset. This mic. sounds better than the built in Senhaiser mic.

Fantastic Quality For Price
This thing is about as close as you'll ever get to studio quality without spending a fortune and a half. The audio quality is fantastic and crisp, and although it may still pick up minor background noise, the quality itself is comparable to that of a studio microphone. It automatically adjusts to the level of noise in the room, and is usable by simply plugging in the USB.I've had it all year, ordered in February. I've knocked this thing over so many times you'd think it'd have broken by now.Nope, nada. No damage, zilch. The absolute worst is the screw slightly loosening up over time, which is an easy fix, and a very minor problem, as all it does is make the microphone's angle change more loosely. Just tighten the screw a bit and it's good as new.TL;DR near-studio audio quality, easy to use, auto-volume adjustment, and quite durable.Edit, 1/30/2022: Still using this baby. Quality is still pretty great overall. I think it might've degraded, like, a smidge?? Like, it's nothing bad, just not quite the crispness I remember when I first got it. But, hell, I recently used it to record vocals for a cover as a personal project, in a CAR, and it was still pretty great audio overall. The tripod broke in the last year or two, sadly, and the usb is getting a bit finnicky with being recognized properly on my computer, but it's been going strong otherwise for the last like.. idek how many years, when did I buy this again?? Like, four, five years now? Give or take. It's a good microphone. Seriously, I'd argue if you bought some proper equipment to go with this, this could be USED as a studio microphone. I don't really often write reviews for things I bought off amazon, but I couldn't not for this. I just skimmed over it going through old orders and decided I'd just touch up on this.If the price is still the same as when I got it, like, ~20-30$, it's a STEAL for the quality. If you need a nice mic, and you're on a budget, unless you're looking for *explicitly high-end professional grade gear*, this is a fantastic mic overall.I would recommend this microphone for basically any use, you wanna video chat with your family/etc and be able to be heard well? Go for it, just.. keep it away from the speakers. (Or just wear headphones.)You an ebic pro gamer? Go for it, this'll make your voice clear as my window.Looking to record audio for narration, singing, voiceovers/acting, etc? This will suffice quite well, even with no additional equipment, though I would suggest getting other equipment. But, on it's own, you can use this for more professional works, just make sure the room is quiet, or if you know how, just edit out background noise. Hell, even just using audacity would cut it for like a fan or something running in the background.Seriously, this microphone is amazing for the price. I can't stress it enough.TL;DRLiterally like one of the biggest bangs for your buck you'll find on the internet, you need a mic for LITERALLY ANY REASON? Buy this. It's GREAT for the price.

Gran compra.
Recomendado.
