On the other hand, during an emergency situation, if you don't have 4AAs, just 2, you can still use your light. Hope this helped. Thanks **Q: This lantern is very dim on the 4x amazon aa rechargeables. is it expected? does it reqiures alkaline aa batteries only to provide bright 200lm light?** A: I just use Duracell batteries (not rechargeable). Mine are very bright this way. **Q: Hello - I am unable to see how many lumens this lantern pushes. Does anybody know this output?** A: The Energizer Eveready LED lantern can provide constant, bright white light with 200 lumen.
