Such a lovely book.
This book is suitable for adults and older children. It is a wonderful story. I read it really quickly as it was so compelling. The ending broke my heart!! Highly recommended, especially for animal lovers.

Brilliant book for my 8 year old son

Lovely story
I bought this book again for my Grandson as my children enjoyed it when they were young. It brought back good memories of a very endearing story. Shame its never been made into a film as far as I know.

Brilliant book - very emotive
Lovely story with an emotive message. Not one of Morpurgo's most popular books but one of my favourites that I wanted to read with my children.
