I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It is a literal masterpiece. It tells the very important tale of an extremely ravenous larva who goes on a major journey of self-discovery in order to discover who and what he truly is.

Aside from the 'classics' we all read in school, there are a few stand-outs for little ones. This book is on that list. The 40th anniversary edition is simply spectacular. The cover is well-made and glossy for durability. The pages are substantially thick enough to not be easily torn. And the colorful pop-out pictures are fabulous. This book is even better than the one I read to my kids. For a classroom teaching tool, it will capture the children's attention. It's entertaining. As you turn the pages, the story can be used to teach 'metamorphosis'; how a caterpillar morphs into a beautiful butterfly. It brought a smile to the face of one of my grown sons when he saw I was wrapping it as part of a newborn's gift. So many others give baby clothing and paraphernalia. Why not start a child on a lifetime of reading pleasure? Give the gift that starts their own library. The very fabulous, entertaining, and educational pop-up book.

Esta versión pop up creo que es el formato más recomendable, puesto que es un libro grande con asombrosos y llamativos pop ups para los niños. A mi peque de 19 meses se lo leo y no dejo apenas que lo toque, porque lo destrozaría en un segundo, pero le encanta. Desde que llegó a casa, es su preferido para leer en cualquier momento. Compré esta edición en inglés aprovechando una oferta de segunda unidad al 50% y genial, porque se lo leo en inglés y con los pop ups entiende la historia perfectamente. Estamos encantados con la compra.

This is a quality book that my 2 year old grandson absolutely adores. The pull up sections keep him entertained.
