Yes it will be a great budget option for the PS5. While it will not be able to support 4k, it should be great at 1080p and has a decent refresh rate. If you want to buy a monitor that can support the newer features like 4k at 120hz you will probably spend around/over $1000. From what I understand most games will more than likely not support those higher capabilities. To finish,if you want to have a monitor that shows the best color during game play I recommend a 4k monitor that has a 60hz refresh rate (they are cheaper), but if you want to buy one to play 1st person shooters(like myself) get a 1080p monitor with a higher refresh rate.

So if you're running a lot of your settings on high and ultra chances are your performance is going to tank because especially if you're running on older hardware for newer games. That said having a 144hz monitor doesn't mean that you wouldn't be able to take advantage of it. Your games will recognize that the display has this refresh rate available and will allow you to see them running at a variable rate. For example if you can only run a game at like 80fps but you're monitor can do up to 144fps all it means is that you'll be able to see smooth framerates up to 144fps even if you can't reach that frame rate. In other words you'd be able to experience that smother 80fps that you otherwise wouldn't be able to with a 60hz monitor.
