As programs ranging from Kolchak: The Night Stalker to, well, Night Stalker have proven, it's difficult to scare TV audiences on a weekly basis, but Supernatural seems to broken the trend. Not only has its blend of Route 66 and The X-Files provided some of the more chilling TV moments in recent history, but its core story--two brothers, Sam and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki) battle the forces of evil to avenge their late mother--has been compelling enough to warrant a second season, which is compiled in its entirety on this six-disc set. Season Two maintains the show's "Monster of the Week" approach while adding compelling layers to the main characters and their history; in "What Is And What Should Never Be," a djinn offers the boys a glimpse of how their lives might've played out had their mother not succumbed to demonic forces, while the two-part "All Hell Breaks Loose" brings the season to a close with not only a rift between Sam and Dean, but the gates of Hell swinging open to unleash monstrous spirits. And if that's not enough of a creepshow for you, the boys also encounter a cannibal clown ("Everybody Loves a Clown"), seductive demons ("Crossroad Blues"), a town gripped by mass psychosis ("Croatoan"), as well as a barrage of ghosts, vampires and werewolves. If it's chills you want, the second season of Supernatural has them by the score. There's also a wealth of extras on the Complete Second Season set that should please longtime fans and help newcomers catch up with developments since the show's debut. Informative and entertaining commentaries are featured on three episodes: "In My Time of Dying" (by Ackles and Padalecki), "What Is And What Never Should Be" (by series creator Eric Kripke), and "All Hell Breaks Loose, Part 1" (by Kripke, writer Sera Gambles, and director Robert Singer). There's also a featurette on "All Hell Breaks Loose Part 2" that offers observations by the cast and crew on the season as a whole; viewers should note that the 11-minute short is difficult to find and is accessible only after accessing "The Devil's Road Map," a virtual tour of the places (and monsters) visited throughout the show's history. Padalecki's screen test for the role of Sam is also included, as well as three webisodes about the writers, visual effects and props for the show, and an amusing gag reel. -- Paul Gaita Supernatural: The Complete Second Season (DVD) Twenty-two years ago, Sam and Dean Winchester lost their mother to a mysterious and demonic supernatural force, so their father, John, raised the brothers. He taught them about the paranormal evil that lives in the dark corners and on the back roads of America...and he taught them how to kill it. Sam, however, wanted nothing to do with this violent and dangerous life, and he left it behind, until the day Dean appeared on his doorstep with troubling news. Their father had gone missing on a "hunting trip." Sam and Dean have spent the last year cruising the highways of the United States searching for their lost father and encountering creatures that most people believe exist only in folklore, superstition and nightmares. Along the way, they have battled the various supernatural threats--and each other as well, for their sibling rivalries and conflicts were never far from the surface. Review: Supernatural continues to rock!!!! - The second season of the hit TV series Supernatural on DVD does not disappoint. It takes the viewer on a wild ride through various demons of the supernatural. The writing and special effects continue to Wow! this season. The acting is incredible by the two male leads, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, who manage to be funny yet credible and are overall a joy to watch act (and of course who are ALWAYS nice to look at). All 22 episodes are here. A list follows: Episode 1 In My Time of Dying An unexpected twist to last year's season finale. YOu will enjoy!! A great commentary also awaits with voices and with complex chinese subtitles with Jared, Jensen, and Kim Manners who is the Director of the episode. Episode 2 Everybody loves a clown This episode plays into many people's hatred of clowns. Very eerie for me especially to watch, as I hate clowns. Episode 3 Bloodlust A repeat character Gordon is introduced here. The episode is about vampires Episode 4 Children should not play with dead things. About life, and death, and more death...... Episode 5 Simon Said A preview of what will happen with people who are suddenly developing psychic powers (of whom Sam is one) Episode 6 No Exit The ghost of a real life serial killer returns to harm his old haunts. Episode 7 The usual suspects Dean's past comes back to haunt him in this episode. Episode 8 Crossroad blues Dean and Sam investigate an area where supposily one can make deals with the devil. Episode 9 Croatoan A virus affects a small town. VEry unsettling end. Episode 10 Hunted Gordon returns, hunting after Sam, due to his psychic abilities. Episode 11 Playthings Invisible playmates may be demonic as demonstrated by this episode. And I had no idea that my imaginary friend "Hermie" when I was growing up could be like this!! I guess I was lucky. Episode 12 Nightshifter More shapeshifting fun. Episode 13 Houses of the holy Sam feels he has been "touched by an angel." Episode 14 Born under a bad sign Sam's dark side may have emerged in this episode about his lost week Episode 15 Tall Tales There is nothing like a "trickster" spirit to rustle up things at a University. Episode 16 Roadkill Roadkill is about ghostkill (big surprise with a show that has the name of "Supernatural") Episode 17 Heart Werewolves aplenty in this episode. Episode 18 Hollywood Babylon Ghostly happenings on a Hollywood horror movie set. Episode 19 Folsom Prison Blues Dean goes to jail in this episode (and presumably did not pass go, or collect his 200.00. I just hope he did not bend over for a bar of soap.). Episode 20 What is and what should never be A genie grants a wish for Dean. Includes a commentary with the creator of the show Eric Kripke Episode 21 All Hell Breaks Loose Part 1 The psychic kids meet, the start of mass destruction. Good commentary (again with complex chinese subtitiles if you want that ) by Eric Kripke, Robert Singer the Director of the episode and Sera Gamble the writer. Episode 22 All Hell Breaks Loose Part 2 Big consequences for Dean as the finale of this season concludes, and really gets you ready for season 3..... I can't tell you how much I am enjoying the Supernatural television series. Everything else on this DVD is great as well. The two documentaries "The Devil's Road Map" and "The Episode from Hell: the making of all Hell Breaks Loose Part 2" are very informative and entertaining. Most of all I enjoyed the Gag real. Buy it, you'll like it! I can't wait to watch Season 3, recently released on DVD. Review: even better than Season 1 - I have become an addict to this show. The season opener is fantastic with Dean wandering the hospital and nobody can see him and communicating through a board game. It is fascinating and creepy all at the same time. Playthings is wonderful and I love how everybody assumes that they are gay and Dean cannot figure out why. It is funny yet not as I had the "pleasure" of experiencing that assumption with my sister from the mind of somebody else, amazes me what people assume sometimes. Once again you would swear that they are brothers in real life. They have such a chemistry it is amazing to watch. I like the werewolf episode where it turns out that the werewolf is female and Sam sleeps with her and and has to kill her at the end. That would have to be tough to say the least. I think the funnier part of that episode is watching Dean at a strip bar transfixed by the pole dancer right above him. I laughed when he said he had his eyes peeled. Tall Tales is my absolute favorite one of the season. I watched it 3 times just to see them fight and argue like an old married couple and the completely bizarre things that were happening. It is funny beyond belief. The actor who plays the trickster is good even if he looks like a refugee from 1987. I like the Hollywood Babylon episode with the reference to Gilmore Girls(which I never watched). You could see it weird Sam out hearing that. Let alone Dean being the ultimate PA with the actress from the "movie" they were making. The part of the gag reel referring to that one is all the more hilarious. Finally the Seaon ender. All Hell's Breaking Loose pt 2. It was heartbreaking watching Sam get killed on pt 1 and watching Dean go make a deal with demons to bring Sam back is wrenching to watch. What these 2 brothers will do for one another is a bond all siblings should aspire to. They take it to the extreme, but it is unbreakable no matter how much they fight and argue. They do that very convincingly so that makes you think that they are related. They are very distinctive in their personalities, Dean being the action taking, gun slinging, hard drinking, womanizing(he loves women, just does not lead a lifestyle that lends to relationships, which is understandable). He is fearless to any outsiders and is not saddled with a whole lot of angst. Sam is the angst ridden and thoughtful really buff book smart brother.Though as the season goes on Sam is developing a harder shell and Jared Padalecki does a fantastic job showng it. He takes his brothers guff and sometimes really does hand it back. I can see that Dean is not easy to render speechless with no smartass comeback. They really do compliment one another and it is a joy to watch. I would give this season 10 stars again if I could. I cannot recommend this series enough.

Series hits its stride
The season opens strongly with an episode that takes up directly after the S1 cliffhanger and provides still more twists and turns. While there continues to be unevenness in the writing, there are some stellar episodes this season and the show veers more heavily into the family and myth arc side of the show. Some real standouts include the episodes Nightshifter, Crossroad Blues, the season opener In My Time of Dying and the alternate-universe episode, What Is and What Should Never Be. Other frequent favorites are the more humor centered Tall Tales and Hollywood Babylon, or the more angst-ridden Born Under a Bad Sign and Heart. The season wraps up with some payoffs for long-time viewers and at least one major surprise that will kick off an arc for Season 3. One disappointment with the disc set is that there weren't more commentaries included. For example there are 4 people on the commentary for episode 1 the director a producer and both stars. It's unfortunate that they didn't decide to spread out these individuals to cover different episodes as it would have been easier for conversation and discussion to continue without interruptions, or even for banter to continue without being cut short. The commentaries were definitely a highlight of the S1 discs and could have been expanded on here. As in the S1 discs there is an entertaining gag reel included. There are also numerous mini-features on both the folklore and filming tidbits of most of the season's episodes on the final disc, although some viewers may have trouble finding or navigating through this feature to locate the brief documentary on the filming of the season finale. There are fewer deleted scenes on this disc than S1, whether because they weren't included or whether the writers are getting better at timing the scripts, who knows. On the whole the extra features are a plus, and there's been more done than for S1.

All Hell Breaks Loose....And It Was Amaazing!
This is a show that just keeps getting better and better with each passing season. And this is only their 2nd season!! If this show was put in a race between "Buffy" and "Charmed" (2 shows I liked), "Supernatural" would win by a mile! The chemistry between Jensen and Jared is probably the best I have ever seen since "Angel" was on tv. I mean for this show to essentially have a 2 person cast, it actually works and works very well. Next to Bones and Booth on the Fox show "Bones", Sam and Dean have a fantastic 2-person combination that works very well. They both have a great on screen presence together and actually act like brothers, and not some forced upon relatonship that most tv shows are doing nowadays. I have to admit, before seeing season 1 I was a huge doubter of the show, because I just thought that it was about 2 pretty boys hunting in a Buffy rip off. But after I saw the first few episodes and then the whole season, I became a quick fan of the show. Why this show was on the bubble, I have no idea. I mean this show is sooo much better than that "Top Model" crap! That's the show that should have been on the bubble, not "Supernatural". And if The CW gave this show the axe, I seriously would have written to the Sci-Fi channel to consider picking this show up, since "Battlestar Galactica" is coming to an end, which is strange considering that show's huge fanbase. But that's another story. To sum up, "Supernatural" is a great show and I would highly reccommend any sci-fi fan or even "Buffy", "Angel", and "Charmed" fans to pick this box set up and add it to their collection.

Season 1 is great but Season 2 is even BETTER
The extras: The season 2 box offers more subtititles (English, French, Spanish, Portugese and Chinese) than the first box which only had French, Spanish and Portugese subtitles. You get another hilarious Gag reel which shows Jensen and Jared's funny side. Great commentaris on 3 episodes and a good "Making of" of the season finale. The only improvement I would suggest is more commentaries and more interesting unaired scenes. The episodes: From the 22 episodes I love 18 which is pretty good number for a picky person like me. The 2nd season offers more great episodes dealing with a greater variety of topics(love, revenge, family, classic rock,self-sacrifice, time etc.). SPN is certainly no X-files(I'm no Mulder & Scully fan) but a show that tries to tell the story of two brothers on a roadtrip which hunt a few supernatural creatures on their way to a "normal" family life. You can watch episodes like "Tall tales", "hollywood babylon" or "What is and never should be" as stand-alones but I would recommend watching the episodes in the right order, otherwise it could be confusing. It's certainly difficult to understand everything without the knowledge of season 1. The actors: Every episode focuses a little bit more on one of the two brothers,so if you enjoy TV-series with many re-occuring actors and a huge character crew, SPN is certainly the wrong show. The recipe of the series is focusing on Dean & Sam Winchester (Jensen Ackles, Jared Padelicki) with the appearances of many great guest stars (Jeffrey Dean Morgan,Jim Beaver, Frederic Lane, Samantha Ferris, Sterlin K. Brown, Chad Lindberg etc). I own season 1 & 2 but the second is certainly my absolute favorite. Soemthing which sets this show apart from others is the great use of Classick Rock music (CCR, Foreigner, REO, Kansas, Boston, Lynards Skynyrd etc.).

Loving this show!
I've just recently gotten into "Supernatural." Having watched the first and second seasons now, I'm hooked. When I saw on IMDb that this show is horror/thriller, I knew I had to give it a look-see because I love horror/thriller shows and I'm always looking for horror/thriller shows. It seems nowadays the only good shows are the hour-long episodic ones like "Supernatural," although of the television shows I own (which is a little over 30 shows) the only more recent shows I have are "Supernatural" and "Smallville." So far with, "Supernatural," I can't wait to watch the the other seasons and get all caught up. I already have seasons six and seven, but I still need seasons three to five, which are on their way to being delivered. By the way, Jared and Jensen have great chemistry together and a lot of times you really believe they're brothers. And I have seen both of them act before, Jensen more so than Jared since I DO have "Smallville." The only things I've seen Jared in is a little bit of "Gilmore Girls," the remake of "Friday the 13th," and his uncredited role of a bully in the remake of "Cheaper by the Dozen." Having watched two seasons of "Supernatural" now, I have more of a perspective on how really good both Jensen and Jared are as actors.

Supernatural is Super Awesome!
Supernatural Season 2 did what most shows fail to do in their sophmore year and that's deliver. The first season was amazing and when shows are amazing the second season is put under a lot of pressure. The show surpassed the first season with such ease. Eric Kripke and company filled the season with funny episodes, scary episodes and heart wrenching episodes. This season was also filled with outstanding guest actors. And the lead actors showed just why they got the job. Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki's acting was darn near perfect. They each had their episodes where they shined but the season belonged to Ackles. He showed why he's a former 3 time Emmy nominee especially in the gut-gripping, edge of your seat 2 part season finale. In "All Hell Breaks Loose Part 2" the season ended with so much promise for season 3. No one is left disappointed just itching for more.

AWESOME product!!! LOVE that they offer 100% Guarantee!!! ((-)Only ONE shipping option.)
DVDs were in EXCELLENT condition!!! I decided to buy from them because they give a 100% guarantee, which put my mind at ease since I was purchasing "pre-owned" DVDs. The DVDs were just as promised; no scratches and the case was in excellent condition as well. The only reason I gave them 4 stars, instead of 5, was because they only offered one type of shipping, which had me waiting over two weeks for it to be delivered (although they shipped it out right away). Would have been willing to pay a little extra for a slightly faster shipping option. Otherwise, I HIGHLY recommend them!!! :)
