It's a very bright light. I had it installed in the trunk of my car and it works very well. I removed the original the light in the trunk, and connected this light directly to the trunk light wiring, this way, I did not have to use the switch that is provided.

This is exactly what my truck needed. Install was fast and simple, and the light output is amazing. I'm going to end up ordering one for every vehicle I own that doesn't have a light under the hood!

PROS * inexpensive * easy to install * plenty of bright LED light to work on the engine bay at night * the LED strip seems to be sealed from the elements OBSERVATIONS * the adhesive strip is suspect and may not hold long term, but that is fixable by adding a new 2-sided industrial adhesive strip RECOMMENDATIONS * be sure to thoroughly clean the intended application area and then wipe down with rubbing alcohol to remove any oil or cleaner residue * add some protective electrical wiring housing to the exposed wire , if any, to help protect it from the elements and from being pinched ( see the left side of my installation near the back of the engine and you'll notice the black corrugated plastic housing I used)

I liked this product soo much that I bought 6 total and I'm gonna buy more for all my cars and my family's cars! This is the best car accessory for nighttime! The convenience!!!!! I really like how the kit has everything you need to hook it up! Easy install and direct connect to the battery! I have one under my hood and I connected 5 together in my trunk because I hate shadows in my trunk because I don't want to lose any small screws etc since I am currently working on my trunk for my project car! I definitely recommend this to all car enthusiasts or even just a normal car owner that does need light in the engine bay.. the convenience of hands free not needing to hold a flash light to check your oil or a quick look at your fluid levels etc.. The light goes on automatically once you open the hood and the button is released from the closed position of the hood.. Extra bright and water resistant.. could be waterproof tho I haven't tried it.. also, if you don't need this under your hood, you could still use this led strip for anything you need light for. comes with wires already connected to the led strip so no soldering is necessary.. also has a 3m sticky tape to stick to surfaces.. make sure you clean with alcohol on the areas of dirt and oil before sticking the led strip to surfaces.

Good quality product and lights up under the hood very well

Arrived on time, packing was intact, and the light itself works well. Seems durable, wire length is decent (Approx 6’). Only issues was the connections, and how they were connected. When adding the fuse/relay it’s as if the assembler forgot to add it. Then made a poor crimp at the fork, joining the fuse/relay wire. The ends have mismatch crimps. More importantly the wire from the light is 18AWG, while the fuse/relay wire is 14AWG. The light strip was folded in the box while still hot from assembling the clear lenses disfigured the middle section. I’m writing such a detailed review, only because this is the second one I ordered. The quality of the first one was flawless even the light was shipped in a long flat box, allowing it to hold its physical shape. The wire connectors were quality and matching while also not be crimped, simply put in a bag for the customer to use if needed. The fuse/relay was not an additional solution to an error like the one I just received. Instead it was all one assembly within the black wire. I have already made the necessary adjustments to mine. These lights are a terrific solution/alternative to automotive lighting. I hope these simple issues can be resolved for my future purchases or I will need to find another supplier. Thank you!

Posting this for my Frontier owners to show placement of the switch. Drill hole in the center at the end of the indented area closest to the emblem shown in picture. I added a washer to the top but may not have been necessary. Remove battery and tighten. I took my time and did professional level work and it took about 3 hours to install. TIP FOR ALL CARS: get a piece of foam and carve to the height of the switch. Place and tape foam in potential area and close hood to see if foam crushes! Also, you need to move the fuse to the positive side for it to be a safe installation. Others mention this too. Overall a really cool addition to my truck for a good price.
