Review: Fun with some learning on the side๐ - Great for my 5 year old grandson. He can do on his own while Mom makes supper! Uses eye-hand coordination, following patterns and implied directions, improves pencil skills without being letters-lots of fun while learning that doesn't feel like instruction. He loves it! Review: Fun Gift For Kids and Adults! - I got this as a fun little Christmas gift for one of my nephews to help him learn to draw better in a fun way! He is always getting on our computer here and playing around in the "Paint" program so I thought this would be a fun little step up from that if he wanted to try it. I think he is enjoying it quite a bit but sometimes he doesn't focus as well as he should on most things unfortunately.

Awesome Childโs Book!!!
This book excels has a way to show children ( even adults) that drawing is not hard. It demonstrates by breaking down the necessary steps to draw; yet, you do not know how your child will respond unless you try. I ask do you see how they made the first drawing? What do you need to do to your drawing to make it look like the second picture? Many of us think drawing is a skill that you either have or you donโt. However, if you know artists, many have had someone that encouraged them to keep playing with shape, colors, shading, texture...all of this is learned! With this understanding, it is my opinion this is an excellent first drawing book for kids! If you as a parent nurture the lessons within this book, your child will start to see shapes everywhere and start to think on their own how to create their own pictures! Secondly, be available to help and answer questions! This can be a very exciting discovery for a child!!! My little one could not believe she did it! I highly recommend this book! I did add and make up more simple things for my child to practice before moving on to the more advanced drawings. I do not consider myself an artist, but we are talking basics here. It is easy to build on what the book teaches! I applaud this author for helping me to see I can help my child learn this gift.. 5 โญ๏ธ

Grab "How to Draw", some pencils and a pad of paper! You will be drawing sooner than you think!
I really enjoyed using this book, "How to Draw" by Barbara Soloff Levy, to learn some very basic drawing techniques! I have actually drawn a few things that were very recognizable! A first for me! And you will too! There were a few times when I was working on "A to B", "B to C", when I suddenly felt like the author was up on "E to F" with no idea how to get there! But it didn't happen often and I always figured a way! The great thing about using a book you can just keep going back until you are satisfied, the bummer about using a book, there's no one handy to ask all the hundreds of questions you will have have as you move forward. I have purchased a couple other beginner books by different authors to try out, I'll try to do some comparisons between them. After the first few pages I started practicing in a small sketching pad. I have 6 grand babies who may want to try these out as they get older! This way everyone will have their own notepad to get started. I would suggest this book for anyone who thinks they can't draw, it will prove you wrong! I've discovered anyone can draw you just may need some help getting started!

Simple and easy little book, great for 6yo.
Simple book for grand daughter she loves to draw, color, paint, anything artsy. At 3yo she sit down and drew a bird correctly, I knew she took after her ole granny then. :)

Very basic drawing school
I actually ordered this book for my husband who is constantly complaining that out three year old is asking him to draw and that he is terrible at it. It made for a laugh nut I was a bit disappointed by the very limited contents. Some shapes are too basic even for the untalented. Also very limited content. We will see how our daughter enjoys it when she gets older.

Good Value
Easy enough for my 5 year old to use but my 8 year old enjoys it as well. We have been drawing as a family in the evenings. I have brought other copies to bundle with craft theme birthday presents.

Itโs actually easy!
Love this how to draw a book. It is very easy for first time artists. Not complicated and overwhelming like most other step-by-step drawing books.

Great for young drawers
Great book to learn to draw in just a few steps each image. I like that the instructions are on the left and the right page is left blank to attempt the drawing.
