Sylvanian (Calico Critters) are more expensive now. Tarrifs no doubt. But our granddaughter had a baby panda without parents or siblings so really "needed" this cute family to add to her very large collection. Price is worth it when this is opened on Christmas morning ... smiles of delight! Can count on high quality of this product!

Great gift for my Granddaughter. Exactly what she wanted!!!!

We got it as a gift from a family member. This was one of the first Calico set my child got. It moved me to tears to see how much joy it brought. You know the spark in their eyes when they are happy, you know this excitement that builds up as they anxiously open the package and remove all the obstacles that are between their little fingers and the prized box content.. and then finally the WOW! moment, as they hold each of the cute critter, and admire the details of the face, the little outfit detailing and as they run gently their fingers on the shapes and features of the animals.. and then finally taking setting them up in the most amazing pretend play situations. I just sit and marvel, how fabulously design this set is, how prefect it is for the little ones that it bring so much joy! My kids love those sets and often take them to their friends homes to share the joy. Also this is the favorite companion set for our family trips, when they go with my child they make any place to feel like our home. It is truly adorable set and I highly recommend it. I recently learned that the Calicos are extremely popular in Japan and they are valued for their great quality, durability and unsurpassed curtness. LOVE IT! Love it ! Absolutely love it!

The Ellwoods Elephant Family is awesome! If you are already familiar with Calico Critters, you know the basics - light gray flocked elephants - Mom, Dad, brother and sister. The parents are about 3 1/4 inches high, and the kids are about 2 1/2 inches. The elephants all have gray bodies, pink ears and trunk ends, and shiny black eyes. None of them have tails, and all the arms and legs move. The family also is wearing removeable clothes. Mom is wearing a long pink calico dress with a tie on apron (the apron is cute, but hard to tie and ours was lost. The good news is that Mom's dress is still very sweet without it). This elephant Dad is a little more stylish than most of the Critter Dads - he is sporting a green velveteen vest, yellow shirt with red bowtie and green pants. Both parents clothes have velcro closures. Sister has a red calico dress, that has a velcro closure and a ribbon that ties around her neck. (Maybe not the best choice for younger kids who like to take off the clothes - those tiny ribbons are very hard to tie with adult fingers). Brother has cute green gingham overalls with red straps and buttons. They just slide up and have no fasteners. I really like the Elephant family. They are extremely cute, and their gray color is dark enough to withstand some dirt. We have had a rabbit family that is the same color for many years, and they still look great - I think the elephants will hold up equally well. My 8 and 11 year old girls love playing with Calico Critters. They set up a bunch of dollhouses to make a town, and let their imaginations run wild. I always love to see them so involved in pretend play. My family has had Critters for many years now, and my daughters keep cycling back to playing with and collecting them. They have definitely earned their space on the toy shelf! Bottom Line - your kids will love playing with Calico Critters families, and the Ellwood Elephants will be one of their favorite families!

My daughters love these toys. They are cute and well-made, but are a little bit pricey. It was a good gift idea because my family all had different options to purchase as there are so many different varieties of Calico Critters, along with accessories.
