This is a genuine GM part. I had a knock sensor fail (known issue) on my 2002 Chevrolet Suburban. While everything was apart, I replaced the wiring harness as well. The wiring harnesses sit in an area of high heat and by this time are almost 20 years old. As expected, the clips on the old harness broke when I removed them from the knock sensor. I was very glad to have a ready replacement. The wiring harness sits below the intake manifold which means you have to remove the intake manifold to get to it. This is not something that you want to do more than once, so replacing everything that you need to while it's apart makes sense. I much prefer the genuine GM part to the Dorman alternative. I figure the GM part lasted 20 years the first time, it'll last the remainder of the vehicle's life. While everything was accessible I also replace the oil pressure sending unit and the valley pan gasket (which was leaking). There are a lot of videos and chats out there about making this repair. It is of medium difficulty for a DIYer. It took me 8 hours to do the repair (including replacing the valve cover gaskets and all the engine and intake clean up - the top end of the engine looks new). You will need a new intake gasket as well to ensure a good seal as well as the torque specifications for the intake manifold.

Wanted to wait to comment till I had put the sensors to work for a while. Now, have put about 10K miles on the truck since replacement and have had no issues, no codes. They fit as well as the originals. Mine weren't malfunctioning; however, I was replacing the intake manifold gasket and didn't want to come back later and replace these. Torqued the sensors to 15 ft. lbs. For sensors and other electronic parts, I always use AC Delco. Never any issues. I was a little nervous about shipping these sensors put they did an adequate job keeping them safe while shipping.
