The order was not sealed dirty and damaged .. wood are full of holes . I don’t recommend it

Not just for salmon. I needed some small, thin planks to cover some cutout areas of one of my closets where I had to access electrical wiring. Looking at the high prices of thin cedar planks sent me to thinking outside the box. I found these by chance. These are the exact same thickness as the planks in my closet and were easy to cut to the right length and at a tenth of the price for planks.

Don't give any smoked flavor too bad

Great price! Good size. I was using them in the oven with my broiler and this size fits on another pan and holds enough salmon for my family. I used them without a pan underneath, though. To be honest, I even used two of the planks for a wood-burning portrait because I didn’t have time to go to the store. They were beautiful when finished and oiled up. I haven’t tried them with other meats yet, but I think I’m going to use the hickory for burgers.

First time I ever bought cedar planks for grilling, it was these. Two years later, I bought them again! Reasons....good price for a decent size of plank & good quantity. Last week I grilled a fillet of Chinook salmon, memory of which make both my and my wife's mouth water. I don't know how one differentiates one cedar plank from another, but I know these are good ones. I do use these differently than the instructions call for. Steve Raichlen, my favorite grilling cookbook writer, says it's better not to soak these. What I do is heat the gas grill on high setting, let the plank char, then I turn down the heat a bit, flip the plank, and put the salmon on the smoldering plank. If the plank catches fire, I spray the flames out and turn down the heat some more. It's always good to use an instant-read thermometer to know when the fish is ready. In the time it's cooking, it gets the smoke flavor....yum! This company does sell a bigger-size plank, but so far, when I've had a bigger piece of fish, I just cut a second plank to the size needed to add to the first one. All depends on what kind of fish you have.

These are literally just planks of wood, but they’re great planks of wood! I have used mine on the grill, as well as for smoking drinks. Sturdy, and can definitely get a couple of uses out of each before having to discard. The additional maple planks are a nice touch.
