Own 2 of these....
I've now bought two of these Banpa BP2ATC cartridges to use with lower priced "Bush" brand turntables; one a suitcase player, the other more of a 'console type device. Both use the same Crosley style 'Skywin' turntable mechanism, and both were fitted with the cheap clone Chuo Denshi CZ800 cartridges. They didn't sound 'too' bad, but having now replaced both with the Banpa cartridge, they sound far clearer, and more detailed, and on the larger 'console' player, the bass definition is much more detailed and extended; being a very full and rounded sound. The Banpa BP2ATC cartridges also track far better than the Chuo Denshi cartridge and the clones; the Banpa will track modern 180 gram releases without skipping, which the original Chuo Denshi and clones can't!! However, my primary use for these record players is with older 50's/60s jazz and swing records, where the ceramic cartridge 'sound' is far more faithful to the original players that the records were made for, and here, these cartridges excel... This modern Banpa BP2ATC is a modern 'remake' of the classic 70s BSR SC12M ceramic cartridge which was used in so many music centre's back in the 70s, and has fortunately retained that classic BSR sound: But.... you have the change the supplied stylus (or needle), for a new-old-stock original BSR-ST17 stylus to get the best and proper results (available on the famous online auction shop... for about £8 ). The supplied stylus is a very poor copy, and the 'diamond' LP tip is a Ruby, and the 78 side is just a Sapphire LP stylus, and so sounds very noisy on a 78... With a true BSR stylus, then this cartridge sounds excellent, and plays LPs, 45s, and 78s superbly well So, the Banpa is a great cartridge, but the supplied stylus is, well, rubbish! It'll do until you get a genuine BSR replacement, and then you'll really hear it at it's best!!

A decent cheap upgrade.
I bought this cartridge for my ion turntable as I just got myself a better turntable. I thought i would make a little project of it and give my old one to a friend. Set up is simple but you do need to be careful of the wires. It clips in nicely and feels secure. As for the sound. It does improve from this cartridge, the sound is warmer and clearer. The only thing id did have to do was tuern the bass down a bit and it sounds great, not taudiophile quality but definitely good enough for someone starting with vinyl or someone who is not too picky.

Banpa Cartridge
Fantastic cartridge for my suitcase record player, so much clearer sound. This is a lifesaver for these types of entry level turntables, highly recommended!

Just the job for my 1961 Bush record player
This fits my Bush 1961 record player perfect and it sounds much better too. I love the fact I can now play my 78s as well.

This is a game changer for suit case record players
I recently purchased a Crossley cruiser deluxe, got home put a record on and i immediately knew I'd made a mistake, not because of the rubbish speakers - I'm using a line out to a Yamaha av but because of the absolute rubbish that is the cartridge. This was a first time purchase on an impulse so i was more interested in bluetooth and portability then actual sound quality although i wouldn't make this mistake again. Either way this purchase was always intended to be an entry into the format to test the water. So after learning a fair bit i stumbled upon this cartridge being replaced with an old player with a before and after comparison leading me to make the purchase. I honestly cannot describe the difference i had! i had tried replacing the stylus on the original cartridge however this made no difference was still getting skips and just muddy sound. Enter this cartridge - literally 2 minutes to replace zero effort you just need to remember where the cables where in the old cartridge and copy. Using my make shift counter weight i got the cartridge weighing at the minimum recommended 4g put on one of the records i knew sounded bad before and immediately you notice an improvement everything is clearer much much clearer it really is night and day and no more skipping even with a significantly lighter tracking weight so bonus for the record durability there! I need to summarize this really, if you have purchased a suitcase record player immediately buy this cartridge to replace the original part you will have better sound clarity and you will not have skipping on your records again. Also remove those rubbish rubber placeholders for the record and buy yourself an acrylic plate you will not be disappointed it will add so much more depth to your record

Definitely better than the standard cartridge
Works great 🙂 the sound is much better than the one the player came with. The top end is more distinct and the lows are more obvious now I need to buy some 78s lol

Acceptable budget cartridge providing separate 78 rpm stylus.
This can be used as a direct replacement of the cartridge in many 'briefcase'-style budget record players. It may be necessary to slightly pinch in the push-on connectors on the record player, as they need to be a firm fit. It has a nice bright sound. Other comment is that this cartridge is a little heavier than the single stylus type it's often used as a replacement for (for those wanting to play 78s with the correct stylus). This will increase the (already rather high) tracking pressure. Not too bad if you're playing 78s, but not so good when you're playing vinyl records. (It's best not to play favourite/valuable vinyl records on those type of record players anyway.)

One of my combo turntables sounded awful playing some vintage records. I hadn't used it for some time and I had replaced the rubber belt that is used for spinning the platter and, in testing the sound, it just didn't sound clear. I purchased it several years ago and had never changed the needle, not that I played that many records on it. It was mostly for show. I examined the stylus and went on Amazon to find a replacement. I came across the banpa store ad for 1 PC Record Player Cartridge with 4 PCS Diamond Stylus Replacement for Crosley, ION, LP, etc. It sure looked like a match for the one in my record player. What caught my eye is that you get 4 replacement needles, including a new cartridge that already has a needle, for 5 needles total, and each needle comes with its own protective cover, for about 9 bucks! Wow! It was worth ordering. See photos. Anyway, the package came within a couple days from Amazon and I quickly got to work to replace the old needle. There are no directions in the box. All you get is the little tin can with the needles but the ad itself has directions for changing the needle. I just popped the old one off and popped the new one on. Easy peazy. I immediately put on an LP and the difference in sound quality from how it sounded before the change was substantial. Everything was much clearer. Two BIG thumbs up! Pros: - 5 replacement needles for about $9? Yes, please! - Nice storage tin included. - Easy replacement. - Great sound quality! - Fits many brands of these lower end turntables. Cons: - No installation instructions included.

Bought this to replace the awful cartridge from my Crosley Voyager turntable, install was easy and the difference in sound quality is quite noticeable, added a few magnets to the back of the tone arm to balance it better as well, would highly recommend this cartridge.
