Yes, this kit is all 1/72 scale. Nice kit for dioramas. This kit has the panel van. The 1/48 scale does not have the van. That being said, the US pilots may not fit in your desired aircraft kit without modifications.

Q: How would these look with a 1/48 scale aircraft?

Fine if you purchased the 1/48 set...extremely detailed at any scale. However 1/72 scale would be too small for a 1/48 scale model. I have both.
