I thought this would actually fix my car, but apparently I have to hire a real mechanic, oh well

My teen son had a light on in his car. A co worker loaned him his micro mechanic. He brought it home and told me to use but my dad who is brilliant at fixing cars was coming to look at it and I knew he have his very expensive code reader with him. We have one too but much lower end than my dads(ours is $30 -$40 one) but i had no idea where it was. My dad was taking a lot longer and I was shocked because he knows cars and knew what was wrong and knew how long it takes to fix and we had places to be. I went out there and my honda odessy wouldn't let him reset after he fixed the light with his code reader and it does typically on other cars but some of the more computerized cars like my Odessy and my toyota 4 runner are more computerized or whatever. So i was like lets try this. He is old school and said no ill figure it out thats not going to if mine wont. I dont like directions and never read. Pop it in and told me what to do after downloading app and it reset my honda in a second. All this without me reading directions and i dont know a thing about cars took me under three minutes including the download and me trying figure out because i am that silly where plug into. SO EASY!!!! SO i bought one for my dad who loved this cheap one compared to his high end one and bought my daughter too which she has already used on her boyfriends car to diagnosis! UNTIL MY SON BROUGHT HOME I NEVER HEARD OF THIS GEM and honest it does all the work and pretty dummy proof for people who struggle somedays even where refill fluids on my car. It literally told me hit to reset! Amazing!!

Does what it is supposed to do. Find a decent app to connect to it. They have a list of ones that work well. Don’t be lazy and do your research. Will identify codes and clear them.

It is good if you are in the U.S. The ODB2 dongle works immediately though when the starter was damaged and the truck wouldn't start. It said everything was fine. I found out that you have to call in and buy a code to unlock it's full potential for an additional $10 fee so be prepared for that. The functions are all in the American unit system and I never found a way to convert it to the rest of the world. To me, it is not worth getting since i had to remove the wheel and go under the truck to find that the starter was cracked which if the OBD2 was able to see the error, would have saved me 3 hours stranded in an area with no phone service.
