Good bottle for hiking, very light

Nalgene bottles are amazing, simplistic design, good volume, great colors. However, there is a little smell on the plastic which I never experienced from my other bottle. Will see if the smell will subside. Note: All perfect, light and no more smell.

We picked up this Nalgene HDPE wide mouth and it's honestly become a bit of a motivator to get out on hikes. There's something about having a proper, rugged bottle ready to go that makes you want to fill it up and head out the door. The wide mouth is the best part. Last time we dropped in a slice of lemon and two slices of cucumber to give the water a bit of a twist, and the opening is wide enough to fit it all in easily and to clean out afterwards without any fuss. The HDPE is light, the litre capacity is plenty for a day out, and it feels like it'll take any amount of knocking about. A great bottle and well worth it. Would recommend to anyone wanting something simple and tough.

I am torn between the translucent and opaque bottle, this one is flexible. it still survives the boiling water and works with the sipper.

This is my absolute favorite water bottle! When out on the water for rowing it holds a larger than normal amount of water, and keeps ice cold water cold for the duration of practice, even on a hot day (90F). The wide mouth means I can gulp down as much as I want without being hindered by the bottle. Holds up very well to abuse, since I throw it around frequently and it slides up and down in the boat every practice. Holds out salt water as well on spring break, giving me fresh clean water in the middle of a workout. At the gym it is small enough to fit in my bag and tight enough not to spill, unlike my green squirt Gatorade bottle (like the ones you see in NFL/College Football games). Fits in most cardio machine holders (all but one particular machine at my gym). Also great for outdoor sports. This bottle does not hold flavor from previous beverages that have been inside. Sometimes I mix a bit of gatorade powder into the bottle and shake it up. If I rinse out the bottle and throw out the rinse water, on the next fill up all I taste is water. Same goes for salt water, tea, Cool-Aid, and adult drinks. Best investment for hydration I ever made. *2018 Edit: I still have this bottle, everything above is still true. It is still my favorite bottle. You should probably buy this bottle.

Nalgene, marque bien connu dans les laboratoires (sous les marques Thermo Nalgene pour les bouteilles et tubes, et Nunc pour les plastiques de culture cellulaire). Bref, sa réputation de solidité et de fiabilité n'est plus à faire. Les gourdes découlent directement des flacons pour échantillons. Cette version en HDPE (polyethylene haute densité) est certes d'un blanc translucide, donc n'a pas la transparence des versions en Tritan™, mais offre une meilleure résistance mécanique en cas de chute, et surtout cette gourde est nettement plus légère que sa version Tritan™. L'autre atout majeur de Nalgene, c'est d'offrir des bouteilles parfaitement étanche sans joint additionnel, juste avec un bouchon parfaitement ajusté. D'ailleurs cette bouteille "wide-mouth" avec son ouverture de 53mm interne/63 mm externe est compatible avec les bouchons "on the fly" ou en abrégé "OTF" de la marque, je m'en suis servie pour donner une seconde vie au bouchon d'une gourde OTF dont le Tritan™ n'avait pas supporté une chute un peu violente (impact avec le trottoir lors d'un sprint après le bus...). J'ai ainsi aussi gagné en capacité, de 650 ml à 1 litre. D'ailleurs, cette bouteille contient même un peu plus, car la graduation 1000 mL se trouve bien 1cm sous l'épaulement. Niveau prix Nalgene abuse vraiment sur les articles de randonnée par rapport au tarif des bouteilles de laboratoire, la seule différence étant le bouchon accroché... Tarif similaire ici par rapport aux enseignes type "Vieux Campeur", autour de 12,90€.
