Wonderful beginner loom and great as a Teaching Tool
The Beka 20" Frame Loom is the first loom I ever purchased and the one I learned to weave on. It is a great loom for anyone wanting to learn the art of Tapestry: well constructed with lovely hardwood, easy to assemble, very portable, simple to warp and a great value for the money. I am now teaching Tapestry classes and will be using this loom with all my future classes. Lastly, the company's customer service is second to none. The folks at Beka are quick to respond to inquiries and very helpful in answering questions as well as being very professional and friendly. They also source local labor and material resources from the USA.

Awesome
This is an excellent loom. I have never done any kind of weaving before. This was very easy to set up. Incredibly well-made. What I like about it is that it gives you 100 pegs at the top and bottom of the frame, so you can we have a very tight warp ( the threads that go up & down) yielding a very tight “fabric” or you have the option of using every other peg for a loose weave or use a thicker warp thread, possibly even use a thicker yarn. It’s very versatile. The only issue I had is that the needle included in the kit is only about 1 foot long, and very thick. When you’re trying to weave through a tight warp it’s too blunt of a tip. So, I went on Etsy, to Windhaven fiber tools. They make handmade 18 inch tapestry needles out of wood. I think it was $17 for each needle, however I’m going to use them forever. I got a beautiful one in Oak and a beautiful one in dark walnut. I’ll try and include some pictures. The joy of these needles is that it will span the whole width of the loom, which makes it much easier to weave back-and-forth. That would be my only suggestion for anybody purchasing this little loom: to go to Winterhaven fiber tools and order their beautiful handmade tapestry needles because they’re (made in America in Ohio), and they’re wonderful

Loving my loom!
I am loving this tabletop loom. It was so easy to assemble in less than 5 minutes from box to warping loom. Quality construction, yet lightweight enough for travel and folds flat. I made sure I purchased yarn beforehand and was happily practicing weaving different patterns the first day. As for customer service, this company is fantastic. One loom beam arrived damaged and they replaced it immediately. BTW, the damaged loom was the fault of UPS. The first box arrive damaged, as well as the second. And I will be contacting the seller about this issue. Anyway, the loom is a good choice for a beginner as I or advanced weaver who wants something manageable in size, weight and ease of mobility for making art pieces, placemats, dish cloths, etc. And not only was the quality of the loom a reason for my purchase, also that it is made in the US. Plus this company has a wonderful line of handmade children's toys. I really do highly recommend this product and this company. Only technical difficulty experienced was when our one cat thought it was the perfect place to view the birds outside. Thank you Beka!

Great loom! Great price!
Great loom! I attached detail photos for reference. There were many reviews when I bought it and very few photos. A couple pros: It's well made, the wood is nice and smooth with no splintering for yarn to catch on. The pick up stick is sanded down with no rough edges, and it functions very well! The shuttle is comes with is nice because it spans the width of the loom. HOWEVER, it feel like it should be more like the shuttles they sell on their website which is sanded to an angle and makes it easier to weave in and out. And same with the needle, I like that it's nice and long, but I think I'll go in and sand it out a bit to get rid of the rough edges. My main con is this: The wing nuts that hold the stand in place are fine, however, if you are adjusting them a lot (IE: Using the loom flat for one section, then switching to the stand for others and so on and so forth) then you'll find these nuts loosen and it's can be really aggravating to have to keep switching it to the back to tighten them. But overall, it's a nice loom, I think it is well made, but a few shortcuts were taken. The first loom they sent out to me was taking so long to get to me. They ended up sending another loom via two day shipping. However, that second loom is going to be at least two days late at this point, and the first one (pictured) got here yesterday only a few days later than Amazon said it would. So now I have to wait on the postman to refuse the shipment or message them when the second loom comes. It's just a bit of a pain. But they did send me a couple cherry shuttles (pictured) to try and make up for it.

Great product
I am learning how to weave and this loom is perfect. Assembly was quick and easy. Perfect loom for us beginners. I wish there were more BEKA how to use videos--that's the only thing I can request. I found other youtube videos that helped so everything is good. I will definitely be buying more BEKA products in the future.

solid feel
I bought this as my first loom, as a total novice to weaving. It's easy to put together and feels sturdy to work on. The largest functional thing you would be able to make on this loom is a placemat. I learned that I wasn't ready to make anything that large. What is hardest for a beginner is preventing the edges of the piece you're working on from narrowing as you go. I learned all kinds of tips on YouTube, and I use them, but still, it is very difficult to get parallel edges. The only thing that works, for me at least, is to use a shorter loom. So I've set this loom aside and am developing my skills on a much smaller loom - just making coasters as I practice different types of weaving and learn how different colors and materials look next to each other. So in short, if you're a beginner, I'd recommend a smaller loom to start with. When you've mastered keeping the edges parallel, then this loom will be useful! The other thing I learned is that it is much easier on your body to work on any loom when it is lying flat. I used the stand on this loom and ended up straining my shoulder, just weaving a couple hours per day for a few days in a row. So the stand seems like a nice option, but I would suggest against using it!
