I'm not one to dole out 5 stars, but this Steam Cleaner pays for itself after the first use. I'm taking the time to write this review because I think it's worth doing for the next person. I'm so happy I bought it. It's light, yet very powerful and does the job. I was ready to replace my carpets – they were horrible, seriously – think babies, pets and boys. Stains everywhere. Worn down. I seriously thought it was hopeless. Now because of this cleaner, I have revived them and they not only look acceptable, they look really, really good. I've used the rented cleaners, and payed to clean my floors in the past. This cleaner rivals both (I did a better job than the company I paid.) I especially like the fact that it is very lightweight, easy to assemble, use and clean after use, and the fact that after using the rinse option, the floors are barely damp and doesn't take long to dry. A few points: Take the time to pretreat bad stains; this is a good cleaner, but pretreating is a must. I pretreated and got every single stain out after steam cleaning except a bright red juice stain. It faded a lot, so it's not so unsightly, but it's still there. I used hot water as they described and it worked great. Please don't skip this step. When done cleaning, after cleaning out the dirty tank, leave it OPEN to dry overnight. The filter will end up with a mildewy smell if you don't. Luckily for me I used it soon after the first time, so I was able to catch it before it got bad. Now I do this, and it stays clean and fresh. No need to spend a great deal of money on stain removers, I spent a huge amount of money on cleaners and nothing did the job on the stains as well as warm vinegar. After feeling defeated with the cleaners I went online and found out about this organic remedy. It even took out gum with EASE, and no residue. MIRACLE. Although you should do at your own risk (just telling you what I did), I listened to a suggestion someone told me and added HE detergent to the carpet cleaner and a little bleach to the solution area. Has to be HE (high efficiency), the one that doesn't sud up. I used the Tide detergent with Febreze. Worked wonders, my carpets are CLEAN and smelled fresh to boot. My only con is although it worked AMAZINGLY on my stairs, it's in my opinion a two-person job. I say this because the length of the attachment hose is not long enough to keep the unit on the top or bottom of the stairs, and still clean all of your stairs. I would imagine lengthening the hose would decrease suction, however, so it didn't bother me; I just had my son follow me and hold it up on the stairs (it's too big to balance on a stair unassisted). I can't imagine how cumbersome it would have been to do that alone. But that was a minor inconvenience in my opinion. The only thing I used other than the Steam cleaner was a carpet rake. I did a lot of research because my floors were not only dirty, but flat and worn down. The carpet rake did wonders to not only fluff back up the carpet, but allow the steam cleaner to now get down into the carpet and do a better job. If your carpets are worn, you might want to invest in one – I got one on Amazon for $20. Use that first, before cleaning. Overall this cleaner is WELL worth the money. For what you would spend (or more) for one professional cleaning, you could do it yourself and get even better results, and keep it for future use. So far we've done my house, my mom's house and my boyfriend's house. Can't beat that. Five stars. Even Six. ;)

This carpet cleaner does a great job removing deep dirt and stains. It’s easy to assemble, simple to use, and leaves carpets looking fresh and clean. The attachments are very useful for upholstery and stairs. Great value for the price and solid performance overall.

This is the best machine I have ever used. I have dogs and cats so I clean frequently. It is easy to clean and not too heavy for me (Im 74). I love the wash and then switch to rinse so clean water to pick up the dirty soapy water. The best thing is it dries in just a couple hours because this machine sucks up the water better than any other machine I have ever had. I couldn't be happier with this Hoover.

I bought this in 2016 during an Amazon Prime Day sale, and it sat in my closet for 8 years. Then, I decided to give it a go, and I'm glad I did! Overall, this can do a great job on a carpet ... not perfect, but I'd probably have to get commercial steam cleaning to do much better. Things I've learned. 1. With one tank of water, I can reasonably work on about an 8x10 foot area. You can certainly do much more, but 80 square feet meshes well with how long one tank of water will last in a pass. 2. Keep an eye on the water tank! It is easy to run out, and then you are doing nothing. I fill the water tank before each pass, even if there is still some left. 3. It's not a vacuum cleaner, so go slower over the carpet in continuous strips and allow those brushes to work. 4. Do a one-pass pre-rinse to dampen the carpet. The wash pass will then be more effective. Fill the water tank before starting the wash pass. 5. Pull the trigger when you are supposed to. This becomes automatic, but at first I was sometimes forgetting on a strip. 6. Wash up one strip and also back down the same strip. Two passes with the trigger on. Follow that up with an up and back pass for suction. Take your time. Go through the entire carpet area like that. 7. Rinse pass: fill the water tank before starting. Go up and back in strips taking your time. You will get more dirt and cleaner out with each pass. Don't stop here. There will still be dirt and detergent residue in the carpet if you do, and after drying, you can feel it. 8 Do another complete rinse pass to get out more detergent and dirt. The waste water will look almost as dirty and sudsy on each pass. 9. Do an additional rinse pass if you are still getting a lot of suds. 10. Empty the waste-water tank after each rinse pass so you can see the results of each pass. 11. When you are satisfied that you have done enough rinse passes and the suctioned suds has decreased, do another 2 passes with just suction, no water. This will still suction out about a third of a tank of water which will still be somewhat dirty but with much fewer suds. At this point, the carpet should not feel like it has a residue, and the dampness should feel less. 12. To dry, set up an oscillating fan and let that run until the carpet is dry, which should be ok by the next day. 13. Tough spots: if there is a difficult spot, consider using a hand scrub brush to work the spot. I found this to be very effective. You can also use the hand-held scrubber attachment which also does a good job for spots or small areas. 14. Use hearing protection. I measured the sound at between 85 and 89 dB, but that is over the entire range of hearing. The sound is dominated by certain frequencies, and those are likely louder. Protect your hearing! If you use good technique, you WILL get good results. Failure comes from an improper process. I know ... I have done it. You won't get any cleaning if the water tank runs dry or you go over the area too quickly. So, I recommend the machine. It is a great tool, but the actual results depend on the operator.

I was very excited to use my machine. It came with what looks like a USA plug and no adapter. I read the instructions, used my own adapter, measured and filled the machine, turned it on and instantly heard a bang, with the smell of burning and then machine turned off... I felt it was going to create an electrical fire, especially how there is water inside the machine and something has exploded in there. Not a nice experience.

Me mudé a un nuevo departamento y la alfombra lucia como si jamás hubiera sido lavada, hablo de una alfombra de calidad baja, sin mantenimiento, en terrible estado. Esta máquina es buenísima, no es tan grande como imagine por qué lo que leí en algunos comentarios, la elegí por tener la opción modo manual que el modelo más pequeño no tiene y lo use para limpiar las torres de gatos que pensé en tirar a la basura y recuperaron su color 😺 No logra limpiar las orillas pegadas a la pared o algún mueble, pero puedes usar para eso la manguera y hacerlo en modo manual y queda todo parejo. Cuando apaguen la máquina inmediatamente pónganla inclinada hacia atrás, o el agua sucia que estaba llendo al depósito (y no llego) se regresa, se sale y mancha la alfombra. También pueden inclinarla dejando encendida durante un minuto para que el agua llegue al depósito completamente y no haya derrames. El mantenimiento al terminar su uso fue fácil: sacar tanques, quitar boquilla de succión y cepillos, enjuagar todo y dejar secando en algún lugar. Juzguen ustedes mismos los resultados, les dejo las fotos y video 😉 Yo estoy encantada con los resultados 😍

Terrific Product, Ive had many a carpet cleaner over the years. Presently the little green proheat spot and pet cleaner from Bissell however I wanted to tackle carpeted Stairs and wanted a full size machine again so we picked this Hoover up and we are more than satisfied. I love how simple the machine is to use, nothing complicated for sure. The machine's clean and grey water tanks are easily accessible for removal and cleaning/maintenance all parts that require maintenance are very easily to remove and maintain. We have cats and we made sure the solutions available are pet safe yet provide sufficient cleaning power while smelling nice. The machine did a great job, the carpet looks new and smells fresh and clean. I have no complaints on this machine though I wish it was instantly soap free when you change from the wash to rinse but obviously it has to run the rest of the soap out of the machine before it gets to the clean soap free water. Even rented more geared for light commercial use have to do the same cycling soapy water to fresh clean... so it is what it is. I thought Id say this though obvious as people are inclined to complain. For an inexpensive machine it performs at-least in my opinion like a champ. Very happy with this purchase! Good Job Hoover!
