Well built and fantastic engineering for retrofit installs.
I’m a professional electrician. Ive installed hundreds of bath fans/heaters for clients. Frankly, most of models out there are flimsy disposable pieces of junk. This Panasonic fan/heater unit is hands down the most well built machine I’ve come across in 30years of doing this. I was so impressed I retrofitted my own master bath with one. My wife is thrilled. Pro tips: 1. while this machine has a thermal shutoff that automatically turns it off after two hours, just have a timer switch installed instead of a toggle switch. 2. If you’re DIYing this you need to install 12/3 awg from the switch to the unit. It requires two separate switch’s, one for heat, one for exhaust. 3. The flex support bracket is genius. Especially for retrofits. Ignore the hacks on YouTube who tell you you don’t have to secure both sides to the adjacent ceiling joists. Secure both. It’s easy given the size of the opening and the result is less vibration / quieter performance. 4. If the flexible duct you use runs through an in conditioned space (no heat or AC) use insulated duct. Otherwise you end up with puddles of standing condensation in the duct in the cold months. Enjoy!

Excellent quality
This fan is SO quiet! It really pulls the moisture out & keeps the mirror from fogging up. The heater works quickly to heat our medium-size bathroom, and the light is much brighter than other fans we've had. The price is much more than we've spent in the past, but I can already tell that the quality is much higher. Hopefully it will last longer than the other fans we've had.

Excellent, Well Made Bathroom Fan/Heat/Light/Night Light. Very Quiet Operation!
Ever since installing a Panasonic FV-11VHL2 in our master bathroom a few years ago, I wanted one for our other bathroom, as well. This FV-0511VHL1 is the new and improved replacement for the older model which is no longer available. This unit can be used in new construction and is designed in such a way that it can be easily installed in existing construction, as well, even without attic access from above. The collapsible mounting bracket, the electrical connections and vent connection can all be done through the 10-7/8" X 16-5/8" ceiling opening, before sliding the unit into place. Unit measures 7-1/2" high so it will fit in a 2X8 ceiling joist cavity. Insulation can be placed in direct contact with the unit. Grill cover size is 13-1/4" X 18-1/4". Can be connected to 6" or 4" duct. Fan can be set to 50, 80, or 110 CFM. Requires a dedicated 20A circuit. Although Vent and Heater can be run at the same time, I like to wire mine so as to not allow that. I do that by running the feed first to the timer, then to the common of a three-way switch. That way the position of the three-way switch determines whether Heat, or Vent mode is used when starting the timer. Love the amount of heat put out by this unit! The perfect answer for a chilly bathroom! (A little expensive, but well worth it, IMHO)

Boy does it whisper - very quiet.
great fan... took1star off only because the fan has a delayed reaction when the wall switch is turn on. Takes literally 4 seconds to start - guessing a computer chip delays the start. If you have guests, they may think it doesn't work. I would definitely buy again knowing this.

Easy Install and Great Performance
Installation was pretty easy. I was replacing two existing fan‑with‑heat units, so the wiring was already in place. My old fans were a little smaller, so I did have to cut some drywall for these to fit, but once in, everything lined up well. Both the heater and vent functions work great and move a lot of air without being too noisy. I have them set at 110 CFM, and they’re much quieter than the old units they replaced. There’s a small delay when turning the fan on, but after a few days I barely noticed it anymore. The heater also has a small adjustable grill, which is a nice touch for directing the warm air exactly where you want it in the bathroom. Overall, a solid upgrade and a big improvement over what I had before.

Puts out a lot of heat very quiet.🏖️
I was doing a total bathroom renovation. I had one of these put in by the toilet. The amount of heat surpasses the output of a 220 wall heater I had put in, and was now taking out. Note : you definitely need a dedicated 20 amp circuit for this unit. Note the wiring can tricky, you might have an electrician do this. So far , it’s been in about a month and with winter coming we’ll see how toasty warm we’ll be. Unit is very quiet. So far I think we have a winner🏖️

This is a good alternative to a baseboard heater in our laundry room. It works really well with great air flow. We have it in a thermostat which ,makes it very convenient. You probably would not want it in a bedroom as the noise level would be disruptive when it is blowing but works perfectly for what we were looking for.

Works well so far.

Best suited for a new build, definitely NOT for a reno. Electrician looked at unit and wiring diagram and informed us we'd need another breaker in our panel and new wiring throughout. It's also very large. Then, the seller refused to return it with no reason given. As it stands I'm out about $465 and I need to find a replacement in the middle of a major reno. FIND SOMETHING ELSE!

We were renovating our ensuite and didn't want to add a heated floor. We wanted the warmth of a a fan heater and proper fan ventilation. This unit is powerful and very quiet.

Love look of whisper ceiling fan with heat. Seemed fairly easy to install -BUT page 13 of manual shows switch installation. NOTE - specific switches not included with expensive product. They ( Panasonic) recommended a brand called SWIDGET which is yet another $100 added to hefty price.
