Q: do these require a subscription ?

They do require a subscription and those who complain about having to pay for the subscription after the 90 day trial is over obviously did not do due diligence before such a large purchase. I do want to write that although my Ring camera placed nearby alerts within 4-5 seconds of motion, the Arlo 4 Pro pushes a notification of motion long after the cause of the motion has left the area… as late as 20 seconds. It’s not my WiFi speed (1 Gigabyte Fiber), or the location of the Router… it’s the way Arlo pushes the notification FIRST to their cloud server and THEN back to you. Be aware of the possible significant delay.

Q: How long on average does it take to charge the battery?

We had our up over a week, took it down to charge it just to check it out and give it a charge just because and it still over 70+%.

Q: I have a Vmb4000 base with Arlo pro 2s will I be able to view recorded footage like the pro2?

Yes, the Arlo Pro 4 Cameras are compatible with the VMB4000 SmartHub and you will be able to record to local storage as you do with your Arlo Pro 2s.

Q: Do you sell a non greedy Arlo? like one where’s your company doesn’t require a subscription after I’ve already paid you a ton of money?

It’s like zippo, they make their money of the fuel, I.e. data storage. Me personally the arlo has the best and most affordable plan. I think 29.99 a month for unlimited cameras?
