Can any Joe Smo use this to put a nice edge on a most knives or is there an extensive learning feeling process like stone sharpening?

Would you sharpen bench chisels with this product?

I wouldn’t recommend sharpening chisels or plane blades with a flexible abrasive belt, as those typically require a flat grind. A flexible belt creates a convex edge. I’d recommend you take a look at our Wood Tool Sharpener, the WS3000. It was specifically designed to sharpen woodworking tools. Does this only sharpen at 20 and 25 degree angles or can it handle Asian knives at 10-12 degree angles?

The WSKTS Mk2 sharpens the 2 most common angles, which are 20° and 25°. If you need to sharpen down to 10°-12°, I recommend either our Precision Adjust Knife Sharpener (WSBCHPAJ) or our Ken Onion Edition KTS (WSKTS-KO) with the optional Blade Grinding Attachment (WSSAKO81112).
