Is there really a pack of two toys?

Yes, there is a pack of two toys. One car and one figure.

what age is this toy recommended for?

Hi Heather, the Age Range is from 3 years to 8 years. Hope this helps.

Is this car compatible with the newest edition of the batcave?

This car does not fit in the waterfall hidden batcave entrance. However we bought out son both and it doesn't matter the car doesn't go through the waterfall entrance. More often than not the batmobile drives around to the front to stop joker escaping on the batman motorcycle.
