I am needing to patch a perc h700 to 4 drives and this looks like it will handle the data, but current harness combines power+data, any ideas?

if the current harness combines both power and data, then I'd look at the connectors on the end of the cable to see if you can extend the data cable half of the combination.

I want to connect lsi megaraid 9271-8i to sata drives. do i need to provide power to the drives separately as this is just for data?

Is this a 1-pack or 2-pack cables? description says about connecting two cables to 8 sata, so i'm assuming a 2-pack, cmiiw?

Mine came with (2) sets of cables. As such, an Raid controller with 2 SAS connections could technically connect to a total of (8) SATA drives. I experimented with a Dell PERC Raid controller and one of these two cables, and setup (4) drives in RAID-0, and it was fast.
