Evelots Indoor/Outdoor Non-Slip Plastic Half Step for Elderly Mobility

Bought this platform as an assist for my 92 year old mother to get in and out of an SUV. The half-step height (4") is just enough of a boost to let her comfortably slide onto or off of the passenger seat. The platform is comfortable sized, enabling a person to step up and turn around while standing on the platform. It has a non-skid, nubby top with good traction, and the platform legs have rubber pads to provide good grip on pavement such as concrete and asphalt. Note: there seem to be several different suppliers of these platforms, and some people noted that their platforms don't seem very sturdy and have cracked at the edges. I can't speak about other items, but this one has four "support pillars" built into the bottom (beyond the four legs at the corners) that provide strength supporting a person's weight.

This half step is perfect for my needs. I have two of them, I’m 77 and have some issues with steps due to back problems. It really works well and is very sturdy. and easy to store if needed. I personally keep mine out. It has a high weight capacity over 400#s, I believe.

My Dad is in his 80's and his knees are weak. He was having problems getting into his house because of the height of the step. We discussed installing a ramp or a stability bar, but when I saw this low cost option, I decided to give it a try. It reduces the height of the step by half and now it is so much easier for him to get in and out of the house. Even my Mom finds it helpful. It is very sturdy and well made. A relative over 250 lbs has used it too and did not damage the step. I would purchase this again.

This step stool is fantastic! Sturdy and strong. I now have 5 of them. One each by my two patio doors, one at the front door, one to assist me in and out of my SUV, and one I carry in the SUV, when going to valet/wheelchair assisted medical facilities. This stool has give me back my Independence, allowing me to safely get up steps and into the car, which I could not do before due to limited leg strength. The size allows you to turn around on it, when using it to get into a car, and safely reach the seat. By having so many, I do not have to worry or try and move them around.
