Repel 100 Insect Repellent 4 oz. Pump Spray Single Bottle Review: Repel - Very nice product worth it Review: I am very happy with this product, not one mosquito bite in 8 days of using the product. I recently went on a Southern Caribbean Cruise and boy was I nervous about Zeka. We flew into Miami which just happens to be the only place in the United States with confirmed cases of Zeka, then we boarded a Carnival Cruise Ship and went to Grand Turk, Dominican Republic, Aruba and Nassau, ALL OF WHICH have the Zeka virus. I was especially nervous in the Dominican Republic where it was hot and humid, idea breading grounds for mosquitoes. I did my homework and followed the direction, first I applied the sun screen and then I applied the Repel 100. I wouldn't recommend squirting the product on yourself, I squirted it in my hands and then rubbed my hands all over the exposed parts. I wore shorts and sandles and still attempted to brave it, I literally put my health and trust in the hands of Repel 100 and the product didn't let me down. Both my wife and I didn't get not one mosquito bite, I was so impressed. We definitely tested the product, 5 countries in 8 days, all Zeka infested and NOT ONE BITE!!

I felt bad buying this given the high DEET content, but man does this work well! When out camping, I first applied this to my body and within seconds, no mosquitoes were in sight. Unfortunately, I can't say it will live up to the hype of "10 hour protection" as I found myself reapplying this spray every 2-3 hours [For context, I used this while camping on a river. So I was constantly sweating in the sun]. This could just be from my own sweat, but I'm sure if you're fully clothed it'll do the trick for the estimated amount of time for protection. All in all, this works a hell of a lot better than most of the bug sprays on the market.

I tried it last weekend for the first time, since the one I normally use I can't find anymore to buy... I went for climbing, needing to do a trekking first in the tropical woods, where we "met" a lot of mosquitoes...we didn't have not even a bite: simply fantastic! You could see them in front of you as if in a mosquitoes' cloud ... The product smells a little but not something that will bother you a lot. It feels a little greasy but didn't bothered us either...it's definitely worthy a try! I'm very happy for having purchased it.

I went on a cruise to Ochos Rio, Jamaica and Grand Caymen during the height of the Zika Virus scare (04.15.2016-04.22.2016) while 4months pregnant and used this STRONG repellent and had 0 issues. This repellent is strong, it def ate the top clear coat off my nail polish, gave me a small rash on my feet and arms, which I sprayed heavily due to them being exposed. But I definitely would have taken a rash over an insect bite that could have hurt my baby. Also, we went to Dunns River Falls, which is a rain forest like scene near a huge river and while we didn't see many insects and I wasn't in the water, I felt secure with this spray.

This worked great but I was unaware deet makes sunscreen less effective. I won't give this a mad review simply because it did work well and is the only bug spray that has ever worked on me in the BVI however I got sunburned pretty bad even though I continuously applied sunscreen. After doing research I found out that normal bug sprays with deet (which usual only have around 15% deet) can make sunscreen 30% less effective. And deet soaks into your skin and stays for a while. So if you're going somewhere with lots of bugs and lots of coverage from the sun I highly recommend! Otherwise not so much.
