Q: It says on the side not to insert in food over 195 F. Have any of the other homebrewers had problems with cooling wort directly from boiling?

No .... I'm not a home Brewer but as long as you mix with the cold wand for a minute or so you shouldn't have a problen

Q: Do you have to stir constantly to cool or can you just let it sit in the pot?

We take it straight from the freezer and drop it in the pot. A few stirs occasionally will help but no need to continually stir.

Q: Is this product BPA-free?

According to the factory these are not BPA free.

Q: Does this product contain bpa? the seller on amazon needs to either know the answer to this or obtain it.

I really do not know. All that I can tell you is that it is food safe. Sorry, I wish that I could be of more help.
