The best small oven made
This is the second one of these we have owned. We received one for a gift about 8 years ago and we used it multiple times daily. We did all our toasting and a good share of our baking in this oven and were impressed from the start. We abused the oven, it did not get cleaned and cared for the way it should and we used it for baking large roasts and other messy items. The convection feature is a big selling point and for a small oven it bakes/toasts/cooks very consistently. When our friend gave us one he told us that he had done a bunch of research on it and America’s Test Kitchens rated it as the best small oven. They were right. After 8 years of use/abuse the convection fan stopped working and the backlight on the controls was wonky. My wife asked me if we could get a new one for Christmas, even though this one still worked okay I agreed it would be nice to replace it with a shiny new one. For the price it is well worth it. I think for a small oven we put it to more work than it was ever designed for and it performed flawlessly. This new model seems to be every bit as well made as the one we got 8 or so years ago. The light is a light blue compared to the Amber that old one had and i prefer this color not that it makes a difference on the ability of the oven to cook/bake/toast. Bottom line, you can save a bunch of money and buy a Black and Decker or Cuisinart toaster oven and probably get by for making a bagel or heating a frozen dinner or pizza (oh, this has a pizza function AND it comes with a pizza pan) and you would do okay with one of those lesser ovens, but it probably won’t last long and you likely won’t use it to roast a chicken or prime rib roast. But if you want to save money in the long run by not having to fire up your electric range or in our case LP Gas range, and utilize this oven that heats up quickly, you will have one that will last years. Our old one got put in a box and into storage, someday we may need an extra for something and I am sure it would still work minus the convection function. Spend the extra few dollars and buy the right oven. Breville is the best for the money.

With convection baking, perfect toasted sandwiches, faster cooking and preheating in a snap you might just break up w/ your oven
As a chef, I love all kinds of kitchen gadgets but I ditched my toaster oven in the 90s and never looked back. GIVES YOU A FASTER SPARE OVEN FOR THE HOLIDAYS AND PARTIES OR THE ONLY OVEN YOU WILL NEED: Recently some folks began talking about their toaster ovens and it made sense--they preheat in no time at all so you not only save electricity, but loads of time if you cook a bunch, they cook faster so ditto; I got one and discovered how they have changed in the years since I thought I didn't need one...Some may think they are just for the person who rarely cooks because it's just simpler and easy to clean but for someone who cooks a bunch this is really fantastic because you not only have an extra oven in your house for things like the holidays when you want more than a couple items cooking at once or you want items cooking at variable temps, but it also has a warming setting so that you can pre-make something and keep it warm for your guests or your honey who has to work late at the office and still wants a hot plate. Because it's convection, it also won't dry out the items as a normal oven would when you have it on warm. Even though I cook daily, I find myself now almost exclusively only using this one due to the time savings and the results. Because there is no large family here, it's perfect for almost everything I do and in many cases far better than my fancy-pants old school oven. It heats up so fast I have pretty much broken up with my oven and microwave. PLATE WARMER: And speaking of hot plates, the top of this one is a built-in plate warmer. So, like a restaurant that does not serve you a hot dish on a cold plate since that equals a tepid dish very quickly, put your ceramic or glass plate on top while you cook your dish and your plate is warm to the touch when serving. CONVECTION OVEN: So let's talk convection oven. Regular ovens heat by the heating elements whereas convection ovens also blow the heated air around the oven cabin to result in faster cooking with more even results and a crisp outside while retaining all moisture inside. That's great if you eat meat, but there is no better oven for baking because you get perfect crumb and crust like you just can't get in any regular oven that's not convection. Breads are moist and springy and perfect inside (perfect crumb) with a great crust outside. Cookies are tender yet have a bit of a crisp on the outside. True pro cooking. Because convection ovens also speed up cooking time, I often also lower the recipe directions by 25 degrees. The convection setting is optional. It's default for some cooking settings but if for some reason you want to ride out the baking time old-school cooking, just press the "convection" button and you can turn that on or off. TOASTER HEAVEN: I ditched the toaster. If you take 2 pieces of toast and make a sandwich you get a very dry sandwich. However, you can put the entire sandwich in here and get melty cheese, hot insides, the most perfect crisping on the outside that I have seen in ages, and still not have it dry on the inside. This has become my addiction--fancy Sammys. There is a reason Subway uses toaster ovens for their hot sandwiches. You can't melt cheese in your toaster. AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF: There are several pre-programmed settings but no matter what you set it on, it turns off automatically for you when it's done. Your regular oven can't do that trick. So if you want to go about your business and go upstairs and vacuum or do laundry and are away from the oven--no worries, when the timer goes off or the automatic cooking time goes off, so does your oven. Of course, if you want more time, you can just hit the start button again if something takes longer to cook but this is a safety and convenience feature. COOKING IQ: If you are not aware of this part, and you are testing your oven temp, you might do it wrong. First, I want to point out that you have to leave an oven thermometer in for 30 minutes to get an accurate reading. As a chef I frequently check my ovens for accuracy both at home and work and this one never fails...always accurate. So back to IQ. What is it? It does things to ensure what you are baking exceeds expectations so if you do your part, you'll get great results. For example, on the toast setting it asks you how many pieces. If you input one you'll get the heating elements just in the center of the oven. Put in 4 and you get the whole oven but it pulses the heat in order to not overdry out your bread while toasting. Really the best toast ever. On toast it does this on the top and bottom of the oven, whereas you can put a bagel or English muffin in on the bagel setting and you get less toasting on the bagel bottom where it's already cooked so it does not dry out. Smart, huh? CELSIUS RECIPE CONVERSION: Set this up wrong and you will always wonder why your oven is the wrong temperature. It has F and C cooking. What's great about that is that you can use any recipe you find online even if it's from another country and written all in Celsius. Push the button and all the temps are C. Push again and back to Fahrenheit . So it's an instant recipe converter. But if you feel your oven is running wrong temp, look for the F after the number and be sure you didn't push the button. FROZEN FOODS BUTTON: Are you cooking from one of the pre-set easy settings but your items is frozen? For example, if you want to pull a bagel out of the freezer to toast it? Just push the "frozen" button first and it automatically warms up the item and adds the extra time to your toaster setting so you don't get crispy outside and frozen middle or undercooked or undertoasted. You can add this to any setting like the pizza setting. RACK PLACEMENT SMARTS: The outside of the oven door tells you where to position the rack for proper cooking. For example, if you are broiling, you will want a different setting than if you are toasting. It is easy to forget this on regular toaster ovens and get poor results because of it. Just look at the small guages on the right of the glass and you will never make a mistake. Top rack height position is for broil, middle rack is for toast, bagel, pizza, and cookie functions. The bottom rack height is for bake, roast, reheat and warm functions REHEAT FOODS WITHOUT DRYING OUT: Got leftovers but don't want to dry them out while cooking again? You don't have to. Choose the "reheat" setting. It will reheat your foods but will not brown the top since that has already been done. MAGNETIC AUTO-EJECT RACK: Why didn't all oven manufacturers think of that? There are two magnets on the back side of the oven door, when you open the door, the magnets automatically pull the oven rack out for you so you don't have to REACH IN and grab your hot food or cheese toast. Really great if you have kids on the go grabbing something--safety first and no more burns and I usually don't even need an oven mitt if juts grabbing my toast or sandwich. CUSTOMIZED TOAST BROWNING: Pick how many slices and how brown you want your toast and it will automatically return to that setting the next time and display it. Should you vary the number of slices often, just one turn of the dial will give you a new number so it's easy to change that up as you cook. The pulsing ensures you simply can't get better toasting. BAGEL FUNCTION: Top and bottom elements cycle on and off but you'll get a tad more browning on top where the bagel is totally uncooked with a perfectly crisped base where it's already browned. All other toast options are the same as the toast options as far as auto-memory etc. BAKE: It will default for cooking convection 325 for 30 minutes. It should be noted that that's 350 in a regular oven. The hot air circulates the heat so you get faster cooking so adjust all recipes by 25 degrees. You will far prefer the results of convection baking to a regular oven but that is why it defaults to 325 rather than 350. To increase temp or time, just one roll of the top and bottom knob does that. You can also turn off the convection baking if you want. Just push the "convection" button. I never turn that off while in the baking mode. Regular baking can't do what convection can as far as better results. ROAST FUNCTION: Top and bottom elements cycle on and off to get the correct temp overall but middle element is off so as not to dry out. It is suggested the max weight to roast be 4.5 lbs for best results. Also, many like to roast poultry in juices that contain lemon. Citric acid damages broiling pans of toaster ovens so line yours in foil if you use anything with citric acid or lemon juice. BROIL: While the top rack is suggested, this is a guide. You can also brown the tops of casseroles by having the wire rack lower. It still works. You can melt cheese on your sandwiches on broil, or crisp something up. You can even broil seatood, meats, and veggies. On this setting you want to use the broil rack. That's the rack that sits inside the baking pan that came with it. Use them both. It has slats in it but is not as open as your wire rack. This way, melting cheese, oil, etc that you have won't drip onto the base of the oven but air will circulate through those vents in the rack. PIZZA: It does a really great pizza and I highly recommend the pizza stone that's an option for this oven. To use a pizza stone, don't ever wash it. It will wind up getting seasoned (black from cooking on it) in time but the high temp kills off bacteria...always scrape it after use, don't wash a pizza stone. The seasoning will make it non-stick eventually but until then, just throw a little cornstarch on it. You want to heat the pizza stone up WITH the oven. Don't put it in the oven cold with the pizza. It won't work. The point of a pizza stone is to crisp up the crust and so heating it up as you preheat the oven makes it do that. I have a pizza oven so I never thought I'd use my toaster oven for that. I thought I might use it for frozen pizza now and again so I bought the stone. But now I love it! You can put it on the "fresh" setting and use dough or your can put it on the "frozen" setting for store bought frozen pizzas. It asks you the approximate size in order to use it's smart technology to heat perfectly. I do recommend the pizza's suggested temperature of 450 at convection for great results. You can just pop it in and put the size and it will automatically tell you how long it thinks you should cook it at that temp., Of course you can always change that. COOKIE FUNCTION: Use the convection on this one. It comes on as default but you can't get better cookies than your convection oven. It also does perfect biscuits, cinnamon rolls, croissants, etc. You can cook from frozen cookie dough simply by pushing the "frozen" button. I recommend getting some silicone baking sheets. You can cut them to any size you want and then your cookies never stick to the baking pans you use and you need no grease. I use them whether I make cookies in the oven or in the toaster oven but it's nice for the toaster oven since you need small pans and they often are not as well made so you get flawless non-stick from them. EASY CLEAN-UP: The bottom pan pulls out so you don't have to do the cleaning by reaching into the oven. You can also line that with the non-stick foil but I have not found the need to as it cleans up easily. I throw the racks in the dishwasher for anything that drips onto those. You are not supposed to put the broiler pan in the dishwasher though. I handwash the cookie sheet because I want it to build up non-stick seasoning. It may be dishwasher safe though; I just know never to put any cookie pan in the dishwasher if you want it non-stick. KEEP WARM: When I am having a dinner party I use this often. I can bake a loaf of bread or a side dish and have it done while I begin other dishes. I set it in the toaster oven on the warming setting and the heat cycles on and off with convection air That means it does not dry out the dish, but it keeps it hot until I am ready to serve it. I made jalapeño bread for a recent Tex/Mex party and the bread was in there a couple hours until I was ready to serve it. It came out hot and fresh and moist and perfect as though I'd just taken it out of the oven. You never have to worry about perfect timing again. Of course, this also means that you can cook dinner for the kids when your spouse works late, and keep their meal hot until they arrive home and everyone eats happy with hot fresh dinners. That's my recap having been using mine for some time now. I had no idea how toaster ovens had changed and how invaluable one would wind up being to me. Cooking time is reduced considerably as is clean up and during the holidays I have a full extra oven for that casserole so all my foods are timed perfectly no matter what is in the other oven. I thought I'd use it some but I have rarely used my pro full-size oven since and I actually have nearly broken up with my microwave. I can preheat the whole oven in a couple minutes and since it's convection, everything cooks better so I now only use my regular oven for large baking for parties. Everything else is done in this one. Including meals I used to microwave. Easy clean up, great features, this one is simply a winner.

It really is great and deserving of the fabulous reviews!
There's not too much I can say about this toaster oven that hasn't already been said in the over 1000 reviews so far. So, I'll just add in the bits that make me particularly love this toaster oven: 1. Great size & quick heating - this little oven can fit more in it than you'd think. I find that my use of the real oven has been cut in half (at least, probably more...) since we started using this toaster oven. It heats very evenly as well. I use ceramic, glass, metal, and even parchment overwrapped with foil in it when reheating food - all nicely but especially my ceramic pans. If I knew someone moving into a studio without an oven I'd strongly recommend this one - you can essentially cook just about anything in it - even a small to average sized whole chicken! (Ok, by whole, I mean the usual 'whole' you'd buy in the store - not a chicken with feathers, feet and a head. Since I have backyard chickens and have posted on chicken related products I figure I really ought to clarify so I don't horrify any fellow backyard chicken folks....) 2. Has multiple settings - there is a toast, a roast, a bake, etc. The nice thing about the roast and bake - we keep it always on convection, so it makes roast and bake pretty much the same. Because of this, we leave the bake setting on 12 minutes at 410 degrees - we've found that most things we cook or reheat want about that range of time and temp, as well as things we heat from the fridge. With the bake setting always here, our daughter can stick things in to warm up and not worry about how to set it. She knows how to use toast and bake and we leave those two settings pretty much always the same so she can heat things on her own (she's 8). 3. Kinda kid friendly - read #2 above about leaving some settings at a set time and temp for ease of use for kids. The downside is that they need to be cautious enough to wear an oven mitt to remove things after they've cooked - the oven is pretty hot and even the outside of it can be hot, so the glove is really needed to protect from burns. If your kid is forgetful or doesn't follow instructions well it could be a hazard, but so would any oven. We don't use a microwave, so for us this is great. 4. love the bottom slide out tray - I'm one of those naughty people who butter their toast then stick it back in to melt, so there is always butter drips on the bottom. The tray slides out so easily I can wipe it down right after doing this, so no burnt butter on the bottom for the next person. We've had ours for over a year now with no issues except *someone* (not me!) put some bread that was in plastic on top of it then used it to heat something up - the plastic melted and some stuck to the front of the glass door and has left a clear, think plastic melty mark on the door. Beware - don't let people put stuff on top! I now keep a few dishtowels and cloth napkins on top which dissuades people putting other things up there (and also gives you a warm cloth if you need it - don't know why you'd need it but it's kinda cozy having warm dishtowels...) Summary: Positive - Heats quickly Fits more than you'd think Settings stay where you leave them Simple to use - even for kids Easy to clean, great drip tray Negative - even the outside heats up, so beware of touching it or leaving things that can melt on it. It's worth the extra $$$ over your basic toaster ovens in my opinion.

Toaster oven heaven .... almost!
Toaster oven heaven, almost. Our previous toaster oven was stylish and mid-range, but so hated for all the usual burning reasons: mainly ourselves taking food in and out, and the food itself, with uneven and unpredictable toasting and inadequate presets and timer. We were actually happy it broke and with a new purchase, also determined to get away from teflon and non-stick which by some accounts off-gasses at 500 degrees, which is a little too close for comfort for my liking. Others say 700 degrees. For that reason, this unit didn't even make my first shortlist, also unfamiliarity with the brand. Unfortunately, in my hunt to transition away from non-stick, I discovered that with the exception of the Waring, they're all non-stick. You can get about 4 of the Waring for the price of this, so it's in a different class with fewer features, but the Waring also has no digital controls, which to those of us who suffer frequent "brown outs" and power surges that can fry the LEDs is a plus. In the end, we traded those concerns and 4 times the $ for this for all the reasons other reviewers have highlighted. No need to repeat unnecessarily, only to say that so far I'm extremely pleased I made this choice, at least if 2 days of use to use toast, bagel and convection reheat functions are a reasonable measure. Results have been nothing short of perfect out of the box. Easy to use, intuitive controls, perfect results, quiet, good audio alerts, wonderful pull out rack feature, ease of access to the crumb tray from outside the unit at the front, smart looks. Heaven. However, there is a reason I deducted the 1 star. Be aware that this oven has NO INTERIOR LIGHT or ON/OFF POWER BUTTON!!! Yes, that's right, all these amazing features, and the high ticket price, yet no interior oven light to see the food!!!! No way to switch the unit off completely without pulling out the cord from the wall, otherwise it's permanently on standby mode when not in use. Maybe I'll get used to it, but for this price I don't think I should have to keep a flashlight by the unit to see the state of the food. We've mitigated the risk of the potential LED damage by adding a socket surge protector, but for this price, I think I should be able to switch the unit off completely without physically having to pull it out to get to the socket and pull out the cord. Something to be aware of. These issues are not annoying enough to make me want to trade this unit right now, I'm otherwise totally thrilled with it, and highly recommend. I reserve the right to come back and post-edit this review after a longer period of ownership.

great little oven !
First of all I'd like to contradict some of the other low rating reviews. Some of the purchasers aren't reading the manual that comes with this oven. Myth #1....you can't use foil. Yes, you can, it just can't touch the heating elements, or the oven overheats. I always use foil to line pans for easy cleanup. Myth #2....you can't use glass pans. Yes ! you can if they are oven proof. Both of these facts are pointed out in the owner's manual. I've even used Corelle bowls to reheat a quick lunch and even that worked great. This oven does get hot, I read a lot of reviews before I purchased and this was one fact that was pointed out over and over again. It does get hot but not any worse than my old lousy toaster oven that I just threw away. I purchased this oven for a few reasons, the first being that my little toaster oven was driving me crazy with the alternating burning and undercooking foods. Then my "new" microwave died and I decided to toss that forever and just use this oven. I actually put the Smart Oven in the microwave cabinet, which is not recommended in the manual but it did state that there is a minimum of clearance around the sides and top of 4 inches.....and in my big cabinet there is 6 inches of space on each side of the oven. There is plenty of airspace to vent around it. I wouldn't have any more space around it if it were on my countertop under the cabinets. Downside: I have to stand on a stool to read the LCD display and put items in/out, because it is elevated. I have to get used to the quick cooking time of this oven but other than that, I think it's great. Bagels, muffins, toast all come out to perfection....this thrills me after years of having to stare at the toaster oven so I didn't burn breakfast. I love the many settings and it is all very easy to use. I baked salmon in it last night and it came out just as good as when I make it in my conventional oven. (and I used foil to line the pan !)The family didn't know the difference! Pizza comes out great. I am really considering getting the pizza stone. I don't really miss my microwave....I've adapted by just using the stovetop to melt butter and use the Smart Oven for my reheating needs....and anything else isn't important enough to compare for the extra space I now have since I tossed the toaster oven and microwave. So all in all I love this oven....it is super quiet, very efficient, and although I have to get used to the speedy baking/reheat times, I really feel like I will be getting a LOT of use out of this little appliance. It isn't flimsy but made with quality products, and the pans it came with are heavy duty as well. It is very easy to clean too. I haven't baked with it yet but I look forward to trying that out also.

Probably the best toaster oven on the market currently.
Edit 12/29/2024: OK, I bought this toaster oven for Christmas 2011. So it's been in service for exactly 13 years. Replaced Christmas 2024 by a Breville Joule model number BOV950SS. To be clear this thing didn't exactly die. But for about the last year, it would sporadically refuse to start. Unplugging it from the wall and/or whacking it on the right side would cause the heating elements to start up. The "fix" would last 3 days or 3 weeks. So it technically was still working. But I figured the writing was on the wall. I assumed from the behavior that a relay on the control board was failing. And truth be told, it was getting sorta yucky looking from carbon deposits. I replaced it with the Current top of the line Joule oven from Breville. But for the $248 I paid and the 13 years of use, I have no complaints. That's about $1.58 per month for an appliance that was used several times a day 7 days a week by 3-4 people. It was super easy to live with. Intuitive controls. That's part of the reason I replaced it with another Breville product with the same control interface. I'd rate that performance SUPERB!!! ORIGINAL REVIEW: I'll add my 5 stars to the overwhelmingly favorable reviews of this product. We've only had it for a few days. It's now January 2nd, 2012. We received the Breville from Amazon Friday, December 30th. It was used to heat pizza Friday night. It cooked a crab dip for New Year's Eve. It made toast and bagels for a house full of people the morning of New Year's day. And it reheated leftovers later on New Year's day. So far, it's worked flawlessly. The controls were a bit of a concern when I first took it out of the box. I should state up front that my wife is a severe technophobe. She hates technology and the general complexity of consumer products these days. So when I plopped the Breville on our kitchen counter and she got a look at the LCD display, she started backing away instinctively thinking that this was yet another appliance that required a couple hours of reading a boring product manual. Once she actually played with the four controls (food selection, temp, time, start/stop) she got it almost immediately. She relaxed once she realized that this thing's controls are "Apple" simple. You don't need to open the manual to know how to use this Breville toaster oven. Even the kids were able to look at the controls for about 30 seconds and figure it out completely. And that's how consumer products should be designed. So it's really simple and it really works. What about construction? Well unlike cheaper toaster ovens that use stamped mild steel and black paint, the Breville body is made from a stamped sheet of real stainless steel. So there won't be any peeling paint in a few years. And the handle is a massive stainless affair that doesn't work any better than a cheaper handle but looks much better. And it's well designed to stand off from the hot oven so you won't burn your hand. The oven door has magnets embedded out of sight so that as you lower the door, the rack is pulled out a few inches so you don't have to reach into the oven to grab a piece of toast and risk burning a hand. As for the heating elements, the Breville uses the same metal resistance coils encased in glass tubing that almost every toaster oven uses. But whereas most competitors use four of these heating elements, the Breville adds a fifth element (top center) along with a heat diffuser. In addition to the increased heat output, the product designers at Breville have developed logic to cycle the various elements on and off depending upon what task the oven is asked to accomplish in order to cook food more evenly and faster. Lastly, the Breville uses a convection fan like many of its competitors to distribute heat evenly but in this unit the fan is almost silent. That's another nice quality touch that makes life a little better. All things considered, we're impressed with the Breville despite it's substantially higher price than most of the competition. For us anyway, I think the price is justified based on the materials quality, excellent design, and cooking performance.

Broke three months out of warranty - not durable
I'll start off by saying that I loved this oven. It did everything I needed it to and more, including toast, roasts, braises, and baking. That's why I'm so disappointed that it broke just three months after the warranty expired. Out of nowhere the oven just became nonresponsive (blank screen). This oven is incredible but it is EXPENSIVE. It is TOO expensive to only last fifteen months, that is what I would expect from some disposable cheap product. I'm going to contact Breville customer service but I'm not holding my breath for a favorable resolution outside the warranty period. I'll update this review with what comes next. If you are set on this oven, I'd recommend paying extra for the warranty. Otherwise, look elsewhere. But even the extended warranty is only two years, and if it is necessary to replace this every two years I would still say your better off looking elsewhere for both a durable and quality product. I'd say this oven is good quality but not durable enough to warrant the cost. EDIT: My friend recommended a solution to my problem - contact American Express and use their 1-year warranty extension program. I did this instead of trying to navigate through Breville's customer service (which seemed harder and more time-consuming than it should be). AMEX did a great job, and just refunded me my money. I did some follow-up research to see what compact oven to buy, and it seems like enough people are having issues with their Breville out-of-warranty that I didn't want to risk it again. I ended up going with the new Cuisinart TOB-260N, and I'm so far very pleased with the purchase. It isn't as intuitive to use as the Breville, but the build quality is just as nice and the cooking results are as good if not better. The extra accessories with this oven were really nice (pizza oven and extra rack on top of broiler pan and baking sheet). I also think the Cuisinart baking sheet is higher quality than the one I got with the Breville. Oh, and the most important thing - there is a 3 year warranty on the Cuisinart! I think that says a lot about the longevity that Cuisinart expects from this kind of product. Also, when I purchased my Cuisinart it was $190, nearly $100 less than the Breville.

Buy this or any Breville oven! Love her.
Unqualified 5 stars! Bought and used heavily since June 2019. Definitely worth the price. If you’re worried about the warranty period buy the insurance, but I haven’t needed any service. I’ve replaced the pizza pan due to scratching - the coating is sensitive but the pan is so good I don’t care! This is the primary pan I use even for things other than pizza. Think baking up frozen Levain cookies (settings: Pizza, 350, not frozen, 7-8 minutes depending on cookie) and reheating leftovers. In fact I prefer the Pizza setting to the Bake setting for these sort of things. Bake works best for things in a pie plate (just made THE BEST chocolate pecan pie in this for thanksgiving - Settings: Bake, convention, 425 for first 10 minutes to make sure crust gets cooked and to produce an awesome praline top of pie, then 325 until pie reaches 200 degrees F in the middle-maybe 40 minutes) or in a square 9x9 or 8x8 cake pan for things like corn pudding. It’s awesome to be able to use this as a second oven when baking other things. Toast and Bagel work fine for us too. Note this girl is powerful - your frozen fries say 425 for 40 minutes? No. Try 400 for 10 then flip them and check every few minutes. It’s almost as powerful as an air fryer and could likely be used as such. I was starting to get concerned about grease build up on the glass earlier this year. Googled it as said just gently use a wet Magic Eraser. Skeptically, I tried it…all of the grease came off. Not just a little, and no heavy scrubbing needed. Astonishing. My girl looks like new! The bamboo cutting board top is great if you don’t love that the top gets super hot. When I need to have this under a cabinet the cutting board catches the heat, plus it’s useful to have a small cutting board always within arms reach. I’ve bought the pizza pan with holes in it and it is not worth it for me, not any better than the solid pizza pan that comes with this. Solid pizza pan is awesome. I’ve never unwrapped the broiler pan lol, but I don’t broil meat. I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this baby. She’s one of my prized possessions and has moved across the country with me. When (if) she dies, I’ll buy a Breville.
