Gentle and Lowly Study Guide

Dane Ortlund is an excellent author. His Gentle and Lowly book is a must read for anyone who has truly walked on this earth and wondered if God really loves them. (The answer is YES) Ortlund’s style is similar to the Heavely Father’s in humble and loving approach, he shows how God’s grace and infinite love covers all. If you want to truly understand how much God loves all of his children, not matter how bad they have been, READ THIS BOOK. It is a must read.

This book helps clear up the myth that God is an angry God. No, just the opposite. He wants to heal and care for YOU. Often times I think we focus all the opposition Jesus faced/dealt with. But this book focuses on the response of Jesus to the crowds. People followed him in large crowds, even sinners and tax collectors enjoyed him as a dinner guest. Why? Because at his heart Jesus was gentle and lowly and healed many many people, and fed thousands, and taught people that mercy and compassion were supposed to be tops in His kingdom. Great book, especially for new believers who still think God is some grumpy figure. No, He wants to give his people peace in the midst of a fallen world! He wants to restore the fallen world and remove any stumbling block.

This is a helpful guide for the book. I’m very glad I purchased it, but it’s definitely not necessary.

I love it. It’s very intense, but amazingly accurate. Dane Ortlund had done his research and is led by the love of God.

It was not clear that this was the book. I needed the book and got the study guide by mistake.

This study guide is a must to go with the Gentle and Lowly hardcover book. The study guide has questions that you can answer and refers to the pages in the book to assist you. The paper is solid and feels good to write on. There is ample space to allow you to write a fulsome answer.
