Veridian 9-Second Flex Tip Digital Thermometer

Works as expected..

...during the recent disease outbreaks, having basic items like this have risen in importance. In checking our cabinet we discovered 'Grandpa thermometer,' a very old one minute fast read model, 'The Beeping Bunny,' a somewhat newer child oriented one, and two others, (not including the antique mercury model) We did a comparison. Having read that digital read thermometers do not have a long life, we refreshed the batteries in the older ones, got one of these, a local store one and did a comparison. We learned, digital thermometers are sensitive devices that if dropped, can malfunction. This happened with the local store bought model, so we replaced it. (After being dropped it was degrees off from the others, and was properly disposed of.) 'Grandpa' was a great older model with color changing lighting. He was sort of fast, newer models are much faster. His accuracy was challenged by the newer models . 'The Bunny' no longer beeped, and we guessed that was age related, so he left the challenge. We found that the new quick read units sometime required a longer time when started from cold, which easily doubled the read time, by the way. This model has been quite accurate, and should be in your medicine cabinet. Stay Healthy.

Doesn't dink when temperature is reached. Would not buy again.

I have purchased two units of this thermometer through Amazon. The main reason, was it's dual scale readings. About the Fahrenheit I can't comment, but the Celsius is totally off. I try bough units several times and body temperature hardly reachs 36ºC (96.8F)! Since it's not accurate is tottally useless. No woder it's not returnable.

I ordered the Veridian 9-Second and 30-Second thermometers so I could compare them. Both read temps. within the amount of time promised but both read low. The 9-Second seems to be about 1 1/2 degrees low and the 30-Second is 1/2 to 3/4 degree low compared to each other and a different thermometer that takes over 1 minute to get a temp. The faster reading is wonderful but I don't understand why thermometers can't be accurate and consistent. One of my tests was putting both Veridian thermometers in my mouth at the same time (same place) and left them in 45 seconds. Each one gave me a different temp.

While it says it is a 9 second thermometer, it actually says in the instruction manual to allow 30 seconds. It is flexible and it does seem to read the temperature properly, It just doesn't do it in the advertised 9 seconds.

I get very inconsistent and incorrect va;ues from his thermometer, but the same applies to the one I got in the hospital for my baby. The digital thermometers seem to be very unreliable, the old mercury ones worked ok.

Compre varias cosas en este pedido junto con este producto. El paquete lo recibí intacto con todos los sellos de seguridad, al momento de abrirlo no se encontraba el producto, pese que Amazon señaló que venía todo dentro de la misma caja. Espero me den una respuesta.
