This is a calculation that tells you how far off the color is from another sample. Without getting into much detail (you can look it up on Wikipedia) a low value (such as less than 1.0)- they consider this an imperceptible color difference. The higher the number the bigger the difference. As far as the charging cord goes - I have a drawer full of micro USB cords that fit this and number of other products.
