Some tips I learned applying this. Buy a handheld sprayer because you really need the other hand to hold a ladder. If you’re gonna be up high, I got a sprayer with a hose, which was not practical. Secondly, don’t worry about overspray. I was obsessing about not getting it on my shingles, but even after 10 minutes I wiped them down with soapy water and there doesn’t seem to be any staining or shining. Lastly, one container took care of this chimney for two coats so it does last a good while. We’ll see how it cures and handles the first rain. I could not get the backside of my chimney, which is a bummer. Pitching my roof is too steep for me to wander up there. Any suggestions?

Our house is mid century modern stone home with the chimney going perpendicular into the house about 20 feet. There are 5 flues. After buying the home about 13 years ago, there were slight leaks around the fireplace ceiling after a good rain. It gradually got worse over time that developed into water running down into the living room across the ceiling. I mean alot of water. When entering the front door, there is about 6 feet of chimney outside the entrance (under roof). I started wondering why this stone would be soaked with water after rain. Did my research and learned that stone can act like a sponge. I used this product about 6 years ago and have not had a drop of water since. Stone at entrance is dry as a bone even after heavy rains. Still working great but reapplying. Just to be safe.

This is great stuff. Sprayed leaking brick fireplace chimney with product last fall and no more leaks! Sprayed again this fall for added security. Won't spray again for five years as product claims.

Sprayed my chimney brick and grout. Make sure you scrape off any crud before applying. Too soon to tell if it works
