AeroGarden Herb Seed Capsules Kit - 6 Capsules

Its a really easy way to start with hydroponics. I like it!

I grow Two basil species, mint, dill and parsely. Out of the seeds it came with, One pod didn't grow. The pods were loose in the box, no padding. Even so, I randomly stuffed the soil back into the pods not knowing which was which. The mint sprouted first. I ended up removing it as I don't have any use for mint, but also, it was growing very fast. Next came the basil. The basil is sort of amazing how fast it grows and how heavy the leaves are. They SMELL! (Like basil) I harvest the Basil and Dill once a week. My toaster oven has a dehydrate mode, so I dehydrate, grind and store them in a baggy. Tonight it's Spaghetti with lots of fresh basil. (Not dehydrated and ground) You can also use your own seeds and buy the pods with no seed in it. I will be buying a larger model when they go on sale again.

My first box of the Aerogarden Grow Anything kit arrived with some missing labels and had sponges that were mishapen, short, missing holes or were broken, but Amazon was really good about replacing the kit for me. The new kit is perfect! It is a great value for the money, since smaller kits seem very pricy per pod unit. This kit also comes with 6 x 3oz bottles of nutrients and all the pod cages, sponges, labels and lids to plant 50 of your own seeds! I placed the sponges into a dish of water, microwaved them for 4 minutes and let them cool down before placing my seeds in them, since I read other reviewers recommending to do that in order to prevent mold, mildew and bugs. It seems to work, because I planted some pods with my own seeds 6 days ago and they have already sprouted without issues. I also store my opened pouch of unused sponges in a zip lock bag to keep them fresh and to prevent bugs from going in and out of the remaining sponges. I definitely recommend this kit and would purchase it again, since the cages make it easy for me to transfer to Kratky or DWC if the plant needs more space for its roots to grow. I love my Aerogardens and I love being able to grow fresh vegetables and herbs easily, when I have never been able to do it before!
