1984 isn’t a light or cozy read, but it’s a masterpiece that demamds your attention. Orwell creates a terrifyingly believable world where privacy doesn’t exist, history is rewritten daily, and independent thought is a crime, like the times we are in now. Quiet relatable, if you think. The pacing slows down around the middle during a long political manifesto, and the ending is genuinely bleak dnon't expect a neat resolution. But the concepts (Big Brother, thoughtcrime, doublethink) and its warnings about surveillance and propaganda make it a must-read for everyone
