Good contactor
Works great, replaced my worn contactor with this one in 5 minutes and now the AC is up and running again.

Perfect OEM replacement for both my Carrier 2
Perfect OEM replacement for both my Carrier 2.5 ton AC units. Looks identical to the original and works perfect. Easy to change. This is the same part for many Byant and Carrier units up to I think 5 tons. (they have the same parent company). The original in my units was a 25 Amp, single pole, with the same voltages as this one. It is OK, and even desirable, to go up a little on the Amps. It just means that the contacts are bigger, other wise its exactly the same. I changed this on both my units when they were 15 years old but still working. Took one apart and the old contacts were looking bad, pitted and burned, even though they both still worked. They may have been near failure and also causing a loss of starting amps due to higher resistance on the old contacts, which is bad. So I say save yourself failure at a bad time and an expensive service call by replacing it at 15 yrs or even sooner. The new one should last another 15 years - probably beyond the remaining life of the units, especially since this is a higher amp model.

Came in defective.
I got the old one to work temporarily and just installed the new one today. When I energised it, it buzzed and it did not pull the contacts in. I figured that these things are too simple to miss-assemble. So I disassembled it to find the the plastic had been broken when assembled. I removed the plastic that cracked off and was jamming the solenoid. Re-assembled and all is well.

Almost a direct replacement.
I like this contactor because it is the exact same form factor and load rating as the old one on my 20 year old Nordyne heat pump. I was able to slip the continuous bar from the old one and snap it in place in the new contactor without disconnecting wires. The only difference from the old one is the new has screw terminals on both ends. The old had a clamping lug on the line side and screw terminal on the load side. Easy to install a forked or ring terminal on the line wire. I was back in service in 20 minutes. (edit 1-4-21) Today I replaced this contactor was replaced because it failed to close 4 days ago, leaving me using backup heat. The original contactor lasted 20 years. This one lasted just over a year before it failed. The contactor points were heavily pitted as if they were made of an inferior material. I was able to punch the contacts together with a screwdriver and re-start the heat pump. EDIT: the durability issue had to do with a failing capacitor, which became evident some time after this review. Corrected to 5 stars.

Product is good
It fit and worked perfectly wasnโt an exact replica of the original part. No instructions but wasnโt hard to figure out how to connect it.

Saved me $200
This part was an exact fit for my unit. I noticed that my existing contactor had clamp-style connections for the power in (there was a plate attached to the screw allowing the bare wire to be clamped, all other connectors were 1/4 or a split ring), versus a screw only, but the thread pattern matched, so I was able to swap the screws to install the part. Installation took only minutes and worked properly. Tip: Take a picture of the existing setup and remove one wire at a time from your old contactor and attach it to your new contactor unless you really know what you are doing. - B

which was fine. So
Very cheap and works. Mounting screws are not included, but I just used the ones from the old relay, so it's not a big deal. I was hearing a loud buzzing noise coming from the AC unit and the fan wasn't running. I checked the capacitor, which was fine. So, then I checked the relay and the power wasn't going through. Got a quote from a few contractors and it would cost me around $150 to get it fixed. Spent $18 on this thing and fixed it myself. It's not that hard, as long as you take all the safety precautions.

Works as intended
My Carrier HVAC system crapped out during a heat wave. It took a while to receive this product, but once I got it and installed it, system is working well again.
