Works well but eyewatering price for no reason
Ok firstly the bad, believe this maybe one of those items because of price and easily revealed packaging people buy use and return. The one I got had clearly been used but as I needed to do the job I just kept it. The tool itself is just a simple puller , nothing rocket science nor justifying the cost. It works very well and is a good tool just way over priced, looking at the other similar cheaper copies on Amazon, now knowing what to look at would buy differently. Easy to actually make a puller with some basic stock. Overall made what can be a nightmare job easy but well over priced by a large margin, by a clone

Best Tool for the Job
I had a cartridge that was absolutely stuck. I used a standard cartridge puller, and after twisting and yanking for over an hour, it only moved about a half inch. I bought the ONA puller, and I had the cartridge out in a matter of minutes. It's very easy to use, it's extremely effective, and it doesn't yank on your pipes. I would gladly recommend this to anyone replacing a cartridge.

Pricey, but worth every penny!
This tool is a HUGE help in removing the Moen Posi-Temp 1222 cartridge!!! Years ago I remember it taking me FIVE hours (and a lot of bad words) to remove a Moen cartridge in the bath tub faucet, so I was really dreading replacing the cartridge this time around. As I feared, I couldn’t get it out. I then ordered the Moen cartridge puller but after reading other reviews, I immediately cancelled that order and ordered this one instead. I am so glad I spent the extra money because the ONA works great! I was able to remove the stuck cartridge in only a few minutes. Part of the cartridge did break off but I was easily able to remove it with needle nose pliers. I was able to complete the cartridge replacement and now have a drip free faucet.

AMAZING TOOL - Time & Life Saver
Had an old Moen 1222 positemp cartridge [probably original to the house] - 21 yrs old. We have well/hard water, so I feared the worst. Hot water also didnt work on this bathroom from when we purchased. I finally got around to changing the cartridge. I started with pliers and the Moen twist/nut, no dice of course. I then had a generic/knockoff Moen puller from Amazon ($15 Chinese cheapie) and at first glance I knew it wouldnt generate the leverage/force needed because its grooves didnt sit over the cartridge ears correctly. After MUCH torque and pulling/twist, I got it to budge maybe 1mm. Here comes the ONA Puller, highly recommended across multiple DIY Plumber forums/questions/posts and Reddit as well. Its premium/expensive, but believe me, IT IS WORTH IT. I went back to the stuck cart, sprayed some PB blaster, just in case, let it sit for an hour, and then tried to the new tool. No problem. Didnt feel like I was over working/torquing against the shower valve, and slowly pulled the old cartridge out. No $200+ plumber service call, and with the new cartridge, my water flows nicely and we finally have hot water in the guest bath. BUY THIS TOOL FOR MOEN CARTRIDGES (1222/1222B/1225)

Well built and more complete in functionality than the other tools for this purpose.
This is fantastic - strong and well built, and works exactly as it should. As a plus, there are a lot of users who have posted how-to videos about it, along with the manufacturer.

Smart design
Quality tool. Here are some tips after I used it: 1. I ran hot water through the shower for 5 minutes before shutting off the water. The thought was maybe the old valve seals would be warm and a bit more flexible, also maybe the hard mineral deposits might be a bit softer. Could be wishful thinking but it was an easy step. 2. Slowly, slowly turn the crank on this tool. Wiggle some and slowly crank some more. 3. Once the old valve is out you probably need to clean the valve housing of minerals. I soaked a rag in some vinegar and stuffed it into the valve body and let it sit for 30 minutes. I then used a toothbrush to scrub inside. Don't forget the back wall of the valve body, I read sediment can build up there and cause problems fully seating the new valve. 4. Flush the valve body. Once done with step 3 you need to get all debris out of there, I turned on the water for about 15 seconds to blast it clear. 5. I dried the inside of the valve body with a paper towel and looked/felt it to make sure the mineral deposits were all gone. 6. I then added grease to the walls of the valve body and the new valve. 7. Inserted the new valve and fully seated the retaining pin. Turned on water and verified no leaks. Installed the handle. I like this tool. Superior to the factory tool. Have DIY'd two 1222 cartridges so far with it. Very bad water at my location, no water softener for years. Going slow is the key. Maybe warming up the valve helps, don't think it can hurt. Good luck.

Saved me after cheap tool failed
This is my second attempt at cartridge replacement on my 2 showers. The HUGE difference between this tool and the cheaper Danco puller that I also bought is: If you have hard water, havent replaced the cartridge in over a decade, or are on well water, the cartridge is likely stuck. The Danco works on the principle that once you jar the cartridge loose about 1/4" that you can wiggle/twist the cartridge out. This was not the case on either shower I replaced. The rubber on the side of my Moen 1222 cartridge was so stuck to the pipe inside that it tore and parts stayed in the pipe. The ONA puller has the long slots which allow for even force to be applied and the cartridge to be pulled all the way out. My first attempt with the Danco, the center portion of the cartridge pulled out, leaving the outer plastic and rubber in the pipe. I drilled CAREFULLY, sawed slots, tried breaking the plastic, Everything. I ended up drilling and tapping with a 3/4" Tap and making a custom all thread puller with washers and nuts. Once I got to this shower and tried the Danco, I stopped as it got stuck, and immediately ordered this. The frustration, expense, and 3 days without water on the first attempt convinced me to spend the money when it makes sense, and this puller was worth every penny!! See the attached video to see how easy it is. If your cartridge pulls out easily, congratulations, you might not have needed this tool, I sure did.
