Max X Low Profile Baitcast Fishing Reel

I bought this as a Christmas gift and it has already caught about 30 bass. Great quality with a smooth cast. It looks sleek and nice but it also very functional. We have used Abu Garcia for years and it is a very durable brand coming from people who fish almost daily. It has not been used in salt water environments, but for every day bass fishing in ponds and lakes it is a great reel and comes at a pretty good price point.

Great little real!

This was the second baitcaster I bought and paired it with a 6ft Medium-Fast St Croix Triumph. I use 30lb braid with a leader. I got this because it was cheap and had used the Max Pro before. I use this setup for fishing in a smaller creek near my house that has a lot of pike in it. I fish floating jerkbaits and size 75 whopper ploppers most of the time and this reel is perfect for what I use it for. I own several more expensive baitcasters that are much better, but for the money, this is good. It is easy to dial in and casts well. I think this reel works well for someone learning to use a baitcaster without spending large amounts of money. I learned how to use a baitcaster 2 years ago and I did it on the Max Pro and the Max X. Both are smooth, good quality.

I have found these to be nice reels for the money. They work well and do the job without the high-end reel prices.

We purchased 3 reels. We all love the smooth casting and are becoming more accurate with our pitching into tight cover.

Very nice and smooth for the price I have the max pro also with 8 ball bearings both seem very close to the same. Love both of them.

I have always used centre pin or fixed spool reels, so I was very cautious with this one. I got a Birds Nest before even casting out! My fault, I didn't look at the spool whilst adjusting the drag. It took a few moments to sort out, but it was a lot easier than a fixed spool Nest! Once set up, it was brilliant. Really easy to use, the Thumb release is in a brilliant position. (But be careful when winding after casting.... Keep your thumb out of the way because the b#gger bites)! I have only used it twice, but I am well pleased. Great value for the money.

Fonctionne bien, à voir dans le temps. Faible ratio, idéal pour pêcher lentement aux leurres.
