Derale 15845 Hyper Dual-Cool Remote Cooler

Works great, I set this up to be thermostat controlled and it keeps my TH350 cool on hot days with no airflow from Any mph driving.

Works like a champ. Cooling a 6L90 in a CJ-7. It's under the hood and a little noisy and slight vibration but acceptable for the performance. Running the inline 185 degree temp switch. Cycles perfectly.

One of the provided fittings fit perfectly on the inlet side and seated all the way to the rubber o-ring. The opposite side (outlet) was unable to seat all the way, and bottomed out/ran out of threads so that the rubber o-ring never seated. Upon inspection, the female side was too shallow to receive the provided fitting. I tried to use some Teflon tape to act as another spacer to get the o-ring to seat. Not impressed by Derale products at all anymore.... Essentially over-priced junk. Save your money and buy off brand Chinese versions. (prior to this review, I wrote Derale about this and they didn't respond)

This cooler was installed in a jeep with a TH400 and a stock type low stall convertor. I wired it at first to run continuous anytime the motor was running, but had problems with overcooling the trans fluid. After a 30 min drive around town the fluid temp in the pan would only be about 130-140 deg F. Installed a thermo switch that comes on at about 180 degrees and goes off about 165. Now it cycles on and off and keeps my trans at a happy temp. The unit was installed under the rear floor of a 77 CJ-7, right above the rear diff and in front of the fuel tank. The fans do make a fair bit of noise, but i don't usually hear them until I come to a complete stop.

Looks and feels well built. For some reason a lot small than I anticipated but guess I didn’t look at the measurements good enough. Right now my temps are hiting above 210 in traffic so we will see. If this will help, will update.

Bought this July 2019 for an aux cooler for my pull truck. Haven’t used the fans a whole lot and went to use them last week amd fan burned up.
