Would the 7.0 mini kid size be efficient for an 8 yr old?

Not sure what you mean by "mini kid size", but my 7 yr old nephew had a small board and wanted a "real board". I bought him the 7.75" width, standard board and he was ecstatic. Before I bought it, I watched a few videos where semi-pro skateboarders talked about the different width and as far as tricks go, maybe the narrower would be easier to accomplish for a rookie but pros found little difference between the widths. And, just an aside, I asked my grown son what size I should buy, based on what his needs were as a young boy starting out and he said "honestly mom? I just cared about the cool graphics!" So there you have it :)

What’s the weight limit?

I can tell you that I ordered the skateboard for my son who is over 6 feet tall and roughly 220lbs. It's fine for him
